aiyo....that mean i only can choose either full hd or 4k....

That is normal.
I do not know of any player that can do auto resolution switching... 2160p, 1080p, 720p, 576p... AND auto framerate switching.
For q10pro, there was a customized way to do that.
I tried it, worked for a while only.
There may be an update, never checked again.

my q10pro got some problem. even I updated to the new version 2.1.4, it is still the same.

the box will shutdown by itself after 2 minutes ++.

any one encounter the same problem?

just brought a EVPad at the time being.

try reseting with the pinhole method.
u will lose all apps, reinstall all.

did this problem exist for some time, with other firmware versions?
if yes, likely a hardware issue, the likely culprit being the power adaptor.
it is not difficult of find... shopee wud hv it... all himedia models use the same one.

Tried reset and change the adaptor .... the box still feel like overheat or what ... it will restart after sometime. Just want to reconfirm .. is the adaptor 12V 2A ?

12v2a is correct.
If u get overheating, something is wrong.
Open up the box to check the int hdd, connections, heat conductor.

Then, I realize there is different between domestic China version and international version.

I believe this Q5 Plus is same as the Q5 Pro.


Problem is I understand from FUTEKO forum that we cannot install Q5 Pro firmware on China domestic version of Q5.


Actually, what I want to achieve from this machine is ability to play 4K with Dobly Atmos TrueHD 7.1 passthrough
to my Samsung Q90R soundbar.

I know this is possible by installing Kodi and with the wrapper script.


1. Anyone know if this is possible out of the box for the China domestic Q5 Plus ?

2. If not, are there steps which you can point me to so as to achieve above ?

3. Any steps to install the wrapper and Kodi on the China domestic Q5 Plus ?

this kodi+wrapper is not magical, not the best way to test if ddtruehd/atmos will work.
try it with native player first.
int'l model q5pro or q10pro will do dd,dd+,ddtruehd, atmos, dts, dtshdma, dtsx.
then again, sound bars are tricky... u gotta be sure of the connections and settings.

Hi there, i have my q5 pro for almost 3 years now, been upgrade to android 7 last year and now having problem with the preinstall youtube apps which always showing the apps are not compatible with the device. Need to uninstalled the youtube and restart again the box. Do you have idea how to stop this?

the original preinstalled youtube does not get updated, ignore it.

just install a new version, use like any other app.

im old folk and not know much about this I.T thingy
i bought Q10 pro about 3 years ago, never upgrade firmware (actual dont know how to)

now im having 3 problems :-
1. all free international tv channel gone.. unable to watch anymore
2. sometimes it just hang up, all button on off cant function, have to power off the main swtich
3. recently youtube always shutdown after play few minutes..

what is the prob here ? and how to do ?
