Got the CX5 last year and somewhat regretting the move, interior + boot space is small. Came from a Civic before, will look into ways to reduce my loss if I were to change this year.

My mistake of not trying the car out with our baby's car seat at the back. It's not often you bring a whole car seat to test drive a car. But at the same time, I didn't get to test drive the car on a long drive, being 185cm the seat isn't as far back as my civic + my wife is behind me with the baby in the car seat.

Ah well, again, will just find ways to cut my losses.

The plugged in CarPlay seems to be very sensitive, and sometimes just turned it off itself citing CarPlay not supposed to be in touch when car in motion.

Any fix for this?

Yours could be something wrong, maybe send into SC, but if cannot simulate the problem, very hard to resolve also.

Mine using everyday with iPhone Waze for many years no such issue. Also I don't like to leave fingerprints on the screen, so I only use that rotating knob thing at gear stick there, best UX ever.

Did you touch the screen ? Or have objects/decoration near it ?

Nothing near the screen, it’s just some random disconnect sometimes, wonder why.

Try changing your USB cable or clean the phone connection part. I'm using the original flimsy iPhone cable for 4 years and cable still intact, which I leave inside the car.

I don't bother anymore about the scratch, dings, dents, no matter drive what car. You don't hit ppl, but ppl hit you no matter how nice you park.

Even within first 5 years or 100k km with free service:
1) 4x tyres RM3-4k+. 19" cost like RM700 each. If go for PS5 will be like 1.1k each.
2) Battery within 2 years get 50% discount at that time still RM300-400. Else is like RM500-600+
3) Insurance 1.3k-1.8k per year range with full NCD discount
4) Roadtax RM830.40 +/- per year.

Within 5 years also got ATF change and brake pad. I think spark plug also within this period. Then engine oil and filter and air filter.

If within warranty.. If can go change arm bush, absorber, side mirrors, engine mounting and steering rack... Common issues last time so don't know Mazda got improve or not.

come join CX5 FB group, plenty of workshop that are specialist in Mazda shared there. if u look at recent post there, got one CX5 2.5T having weirdly jerking and up and down rpm during idling, turn out due to GB issue. and many had claim new GB for 2.5T

Sadly no, brake pad if not mistaken is consider wear & tear items so must pay by owner.
Most Mazda SC wont change the ATF within warranty as it is claim as "Lifetime gearbox" means it will last within warranty. After warranty end is your own already. biggrin.gif Spark plug if not mistaken is during the 5th year or 100k only change coz nowadays most using iridium already. If they tell you change during 50~60k usually is cheating/white lie to comfort the owner. (Coz i personally knew Mazda SC personal/manager)

Engine oil, filter these stuff they will change for free as it is included in the service package (Actually is not free but already included in the car price). The SC personal will file claim with the sales department after service is done.

Talking about brake, the SC told me the rear pads will wear out faster than the front pads. Any comments/experience from anyone ?

All my previous cars experience, the front pad will wear out faster. Or in a way the braking ratio is like 70:30 or 60:40 for front:rear

First time heard rear pads wear out faster than front.
The only thing i can think of is either some dude always play with the parking brake/hand brake a lot, this is the only reason rear brake pads wear out faster.

Yeah, now that you mention, I think the SC also mention the electronic parking brake wears out the rear pad faster. Not sure how true or is bullshEEt , but if any other keyboard-experts can share.

Proper use of electronic parking brake usually wont wear out fast, unless you always drive or park in slopes which will put a lot of pressure on parking brakes. This is stupid, as original brake pads if driven moderately some owners cross 100k also not yet change.
