I have just received my 2.0 GLS today.  Everything is ok except there is sound and slight vibration when I press the brake hard. SA said this is just temporary, it will be ok after a while. Anyone experience the same? Still to me the CX5 brake is not good.
*
Yeah, I believe I experienced similar during the first few weeks and complained about it during first service. But looks like it went away on its on. Service guy did confide in me that the cx5 brake is typically like that. Also, the brakes aren't great at all. Needs more pressing to get proper grip. Though, in a recent experience, saved me from an accident.. When you really press it, it stops real hard. Fresh tires and reflexes helped.. smile.gif

So for stock, better to get used to it fast and keep your distance from the car in front while you get used to it. Most members upgrade the brake system...pads, calipers, rotors, etc.. So do so if can.

i've encountered the similar scenario as you too when pressing the brake hard. Wondering why...

CX5 braking system relates to GVC by controlling the G-forces front and rear hence the "smooth" braking experience ...i guess cool2.gif

Thanks for the info that it's normal. I'm sure it's much more challenging for your 2.2d than my 2.0. I did feel that I couldn't slow down enough to go over hump when test drive the 2.2d. Got to get use to it over time.

Yeah.. Have to get used to it or upgrade it with better parts. It does prove challenging at first for the 2.2d, but once you've learnt how to handle the throttle and move around smoothly. It's now easy and natural. There won't be any unnecessary vrooming. Also helps that the turbos are 2 stage. The bigger turbo doesn't kick in unless one really needs it and that involves higher revs. I'm more concerned about the numerous random potholes than a speed bump. laugh.gif

Watched the wrong reviews buddy. No powered boot for Malaysian market. Watch or read reviews done by Malaysian reviewers for Malaysian specs. Lots of stuff stripped out that should be there.. Damn Bermaz.

Really missing out the paddleshift and the head up display sweat.gif the car doesn't upshift by itself when you pedal to 3-4k rpm for a moment to pick up and then finally let go. It'll continue to work like a bull. Need paddleshift sweat.gif

I will seriously suggest you to go for the GLS instead. To add on you can't even get 1/3 of the list of missing features and equipment from the GL with the price difference. List as below:

Exterior
-------------
LED daytime running lights
LED rear combination taillights
Piano black door pillar garnish

Interior
-----------
Keyless entry
Metal & Wood dashboard trim
Power-adjustable 10-way driver’s seat
Leather seats
Navigation function for MZD system

Safety
----------
Four front parking sensors
Adaptive Front-Lighting System (AFS)
Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM)
Rear Cross Traffic Alert
Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) – front

i guess bermaz had to strip those features to make the price affordable to the market..not to mention it comes with 3 years free maintenance some more.

For Malaysia GLS spec

No BOSE
No Power Boot
No HUD
No Sunroof

If you getting GL spec, you get even more less than GLS spec. I suggest you go for the GLS spec because you can add those later outside with this price. But if you having budget concern then the choice is yours.

Just advise.

Thanks for the suggestion!
The reason why i consider GL is due to my budget and after deep consideration, I dont really need the additional features of the GLS.
In fact front parking sensor is the only features I would like to add in my GL.
Anyway just booked the GL today, hoping to get my car in Sept!
My SA told me he can add 2 front sensors for me with RM350.

Hmm, for the diesel, very rare that I have to rev up and over 3K. Most of the time it's below 2k, 2.5K tops even.. Courtesy low rev torque.. Gear changes are alright too.. I'm aware aftermarket paddleshifters can be installed, plug-n-play style.. But for now, don't need em.

Same here.. I miss the stripped out features.. Particularly the HUD, MRCC, BOSE and Memory seats... These to me are super practical features and will further enhance the driving experience for good. TBH, paddle shifters and powered boot are lower on my rankings.

Yeah.. basically cost of 6 services.. These simply doesn't equal them removing those lovely features. Especially since we can build em into other cars right here in Malaysia and for export.. But yeah, i do get what you mean.. Cost reduction on overall car price.. But me wonders exactly how much they are really saving us vs them gaining.. hmm.gif

Few and far between.. Most here just got their cars and or are waiting.. Little mods here and there only.. Have to wait for owners of older gen to chip in, if they did theirs.

Rather than front sensors... Perhaps front cameras?.. Cuz some objects don't get detected on the sensors..

Indeed mate.
OEM/3rd-party paddle shifters and powered boot are readily available and can be installed by accessory shops but the HUD, MRCC, memory seats are not yet available and to me these are more important.

I know some accessory shops already bringing in front camera and 360 camera that can be installed direct to the MZD, without the need to install Android Module

A front camera will be great for those front in first perpendicular/angled parkings, with a curb. I know the ride height is higher than sedans and shouldn't hit.. But still careful when inching forward.. Given the going rates of installing the powered boot and Android module.. I expect the 360 camera to be similarly priced if not higher. sweat.gif Hopefully it's plug and play and won't affect the car's warranty in any way. See how first, but I doubt I can talk myself into shelling out so much cash for such feature.

Yea, it's a good feature to have but I doubt myself willing to fork out so much extra money to add on...even power boot I am really reluctant to do it sweat.gif

Been wondering...With so many choices of plug and play accessories available...
Actually what is the max limit of the "port" for plug and play? hmm.gif
Is it cukup makan or not? brows.gif
