haha maybe i seldom drive that car. so don't get the pinch.

slightly off track questions, does mazda force all buyers to have this skytint by default for all mazda cars? or is it optional for other variants?
*
as far as i know for new cx-5 yea...optional means force

Many adds on good to have but not necessary:

1. Power boot
2. 360 and front camera
3. Paddle shifter
4. Extra sound proof in the car
5. Android module
6. Front, read and side guard
7. Mud flap
8. Better audio system like BOSE
9. Side steps
*
if the power boot is less than 2k i might consider..

because i have seen the demo...sometimes it doesn’t work well...so i am skeptical

Like once in a while you press the button the boot doesn't opens. No biggie, can press again but it's a let down given you paid so much for it.
*
like what Duckies mentioned...sometimes it doesn’t open on first attempt

and the kick sensor behaves the same as well

Anyone use Haverkamp tint before? Last week i went to test it at Sunway branch and the result is awesome. They provide 10 years warranty and now offer price is RM1688. IRR is 96%, Made in Germany also.

Any one install in on current cx-5 or not?
*
any tint can achieve 99% IRR...that's not what matters on a good tint

check the TSER..the higher the better

Honestly the front windscreen is f*&King lame, the sides and back were not too bad IMHO.

I've been using 3M Crystalline for most of my cars previously, and of course the performance is like 100% for CR and the Skytint is around 65%.

Am thinking of not spending so much as 3M CR price has went up by a lot, and am thinking of just getting the magnetic sun shade at RM250 for 7 pieces for the time being.  blush.gif
*
for cost effective method will be acceptable tint + shades...like what you are proposing now

that is what i am doing...haha

Few days with my 2.0 GLS
Some thoughts on I-stop system.
Actually is quite a intelligent system, I-stop only activate when I want it to.
When in traffic jam, if I not fully floor the brake pedal, by slowly slowly pressure it, It would engine stop (and I-stop indication blinking) and i fully floor the brake pedal (if i wanted to) then only I-stop activate.
So along my normal day ride every morning about 10km traffic jam, the I-stop won't disturb me with engine stop actually.....

QUOTE(nebula87 @ Aug 15 2018, 10:50 AM)
Yes bro, figured this out yesterday too.

Now I par that with my On-Hold button, when i fully floor my brake pedal, i-Stop and On-Hold activated. And i can rest my legs during traffic jam.  nod.gif

And also kind of get used to the jerking (i-Stop on and off).  smile.gif

the i-stop behaves the same on 1st gen too...

Day 4 quirks

- Discovered the driver's window is kinda 'loose' and makes a sound as if something's not tight enough every time I roll down the window

- GPS is a hell to use when using the rotating knob. Keying in the destination is best done when stationary, when the touch screen is activated

- Speakers continue to be good at best. Wish we get that Bose speakers here

- Engine noise is loud during startup. Not a surprise as we already discovered this the day we went to book 3 months ago

- still getting used to the sheer size of this vehicle, which is posing some challenges when performing side parking and going through that one tight corner at the office basement parking
*
the initial startup / cold start having loud noise is due to i-stop system...

after driving for a while, you can try shutting down the engine...then restart again after 30 mins...there won't be such noise anymore

right and wrong.

iStop only triggered when it is in working temperature (50-100c)

when u ignited your car after a long nite, it may need 30sec-50sec to warm up (1k-1.2k rev) until exceed 50celcius.

if you wan to shut the noise down, just shift your gear to D. It will automatically drop down to 700 rev
*
erm...what i am trying to say is the loud noise only happen during initial start up / cold start

if you have been driving the car for say like 1 hr, shut down the engine, after an hour you start the engine again the engine is not fully cooled off yet then the noise won't happen

i always waited for 1 minute every morning when the rpm drops to 1k rpm then only switch on the aircon and start driving

hhmm..this is new to me

good info

so hopefully this will clear the doubt of users who think louder noise means something wrong with the engine

I did encountered this issue after change battery, my case was the meter suddenly trigger missing key sign when I stop by to pick some back passenger which require open back side door then close back... so far it only happen twice...after continue to drive for while then the missing key sign gone.....did old SC but sound like they also not sure and only mention it could be battery issue hahah!!..

QUOTE(fooyeee @ Sep 5 2018, 07:21 AM)
Try to replace another battery...or reposition the battery...logically should be low on battery and the car unable detect FOB which lead to unable unlock/lock the car and key not in car while engine running
*
thanks for the sharing and feedback

i have replaced to new batt...now working ok but need to monitor a while first

i was so afraid it may be faulty FOB...that means have to spend few hundreds to get new FOB
