QUOTE(Duckies @ Jul 20 2018, 10:37 AM)
Correct. IMO it's not worth going for 2.5.

Why? Here's my 2 cents.

1. You gotta pay more road tax than 2.0.
2. You get less power and FC compared to 2.2 D
3. You don't get full safety tech like 2.2D like lane departure assist (LAS), lane departure warning system (LDWS), driver attention alert (DAA) and adaptive front lighting system (AFS)
4. The price difference between 2.5 and 2.2D is very small, yet you are missing out everything
5. FC for 2.5 is not as good as 2.0 if you are driving in city most of the time due to higher cc but stuck in traffic
6. The only good thing is the maintenance and repairing cost is lower than 2.2D but like chinese saying, if you are already paying for the chicken might as well pay for the kicap

So my 2 cents here is that if you want power go for 2.2D. If you drive in city most of the time and don't mind the power, go for 2.0 GLS.
*
There's one problem though.
The availability of Euro5 diesel outside of big cities.

If Euro5 is easily available like Ron97, no brainer

Hi,

Just got my 2.2 few days ago. Went for my 2nd diesel full tank yesterday night at petronas, but this morning experience power drop, compare to 1st time refuel at Shell it was quite some difference and am kinda dissapointed with its power.

Anyone has had the similar experience?

Maybe u guys can share your preferred diesel euro 5 brand?
*
I've only fill Petronas since getting my 2.2D Fwd since February coz my MBB Ikhwan Petronas cc gives me 8% CB when pump-in during the weekend.
So every month can get about Rm30-40 CB.

Mileage-wise, normally getting 700km for full tank on mixed driving of 60% HW, 40% city.
Can't really comment on power delivery though as haven't done comparison with other brands Euro5 yet.

how i wish mazda can have those shades built-in in the car like those higher end cars, or even entry level luxury cars have.
*
Indeed, even KIA's Sorento and Carnival incorporated these built-in shades for the rear windows.

Anyone tailgate light(when tailgate lift up it is in the inner left side of the tailgate) not functioning? I jz discovered it 1.5mth after taking the car and 1k service already done...
*
Just wondering if you switch on the tailgate light?
There's an On/Off switch for the tailgate light.
If you already switch it On, either blown light bulb, fuse or faulty switch.

Same here.. I miss the stripped out features.. Particularly the HUD, MRCC, BOSE and Memory seats... These to me are super practical features and will further enhance the driving experience for good. TBH, paddle shifters and powered boot are lower on my rankings.
..........
Rather than front sensors... Perhaps front cameras?.. Cuz some objects don't get detected on the sensors..
*
Indeed mate.
OEM/3rd-party paddle shifters and powered boot are readily available and can be installed by accessory shops but the HUD, MRCC, memory seats are not yet available and to me these are more important.

I know some accessory shops already bringing in front camera and 360 camera that can be installed direct to the MZD, without the need to install Android Module

Get a good quality 2-channel DVR.
A China brand 2-c DVR will surely cost less than 1k (or even 500) with installation but a well-known Korean brand will cost more than 1k

if the power boot is less than 2k i might consider..

because i have seen the demo...sometimes it doesn’t work well...so i am skeptical
*
There are quite a few brands/quality of 3rd-party power boot and some sellers might have those that cost less than 2k incl installation.
I've seen 1 seller in FB advertised one for ard 1.8k, but without the kick-sensor

Alright..will play with the manual knob first..

And also the auto side mirror folding, that available in plug-n-play also?
*
The auto-fold module and installation cost me RM145 back in Feb/March.
It is plug-n-play module and hide inside the driver's door panel.

I thought of installing this too. But noticing that I don't always want the mirrors in when parked all the time. Save the rotor's life too.
......
Mainly for the missus as it helps her whether the car already locked or not tongue.gif
It kinda helps too if park along the roadside

not too bad i doubt?  smile.gif

mine's getting about 550km on my first tank hmm...
*
From what I read in FB & whatsapp groups, seems like the 1st gen FL 2.2D users get better mileage than 2nd gen 2.2D users.
I've read that those driving FL 2.2D can clock > 800km on full tank whereas 2nd gen 2.2D max around 700-750/full tank for h/way drive.

Mine normally around 700km mixed drive on my 2.2D Fwd

Saw somebody changed the information cluster but too much work. Need both hardware and software modding sweat.gif I guess petrol variant has to just live with it.

What I want the most now is the Android Auto support.
*
Another option is buying those after-market plug-n-play OBD II meter.
The China-made display can be had from RM13x while the more expensive Korean-made can set you back RM5xx.
The more expensive Japanese brands like Blitz, HKS etc can easily cost > 1k

I bought one from Sidek Salleh for around RM180 including installation, but you can install it yourself as it just a matter of plug-in to the OBD II port.

On my 2.2D, I set the display to show the speed, battery voltage and temperature.

Heard that Mazda provides deposit cleaner as complimentary for every 10k service, is it true?

Otherwise a RM 63.6 will be incurred if required....

Only for petrol engine tongue.gif
Last time the SA in Bermaz, Glenamrie wants to give me the deposit cleaner for my 10k servicing until I told him mine is 2.2D

*
For petrol version, free semi only.
Full synt owner have to top-up.

If diesel, free full synt 0-30W
Bermaz Glenmarie used the 0-30W full synt for my 2.2D 1k and 10k servicing

Quick question, which CRV variant comparable to CX-5 2.2D 4WD in term of handling and overall satisfaction? Cargo space notwithstanding.

Thanks!
*
Quick answer,
None! biggrin.gif
Unless they release CRV Type R tongue.gif

handling wise, hard to beat the CX-5 2.2D.
The CRV beats the CX-5 in terms of practicality and space, but if the majority of your driving is only yourself in the driver’s seat or just with your missus, treat yourself to a CX-5

Well, daily commute to work from home is 80km both ways.
Then weekend, fetch the kids to tuition, meals etc.

Annually I will covered 25k to 30K km.  cool2.gif
*
Your usage is almost similar to mine as my daily commute from home to work is about 85km both ways.
Within 3-4 months, with the occasional balik kampung trips and weekends errands, easily clocked 10k.

One of the reason why I opted for the 2.2D Fwd

The tyre pressure is 350kpa++

Everybody noticed that??

In door side tyre pressure guide is 240kpa to 280kpa recommended.
*
Normal practice by factory/showroom/dealers as they don't know how long will the cars be kept in storage.
