QUOTE(kianwee @ Jul 23 2007, 10:10 AM) The reason people buy from DELL is because their policy is to eliminate the middleman and thus FACTORY -----> CONSUMER. Why buy from Viewnet when you can buy directly and it is MISB from DELL factory? No credit card? Not interested in Ambank's prepaid Mastercard? Like to get their hands immediately on products once cash is splashed isntead of waiting a few days (though I don't think this will happen at Viewnet)? There is a physical manifestation of customer service, where you know it will always be there for you to complain, RMA, etc. instead of just phone calls?

If one doesn't have a CC, they can always opt for TT, Bank Draft or Cheque. You probably isn't fimiliar with DELL's warranty policy. They collect it from your doorstep with just one phone call. If you buy from Viewnet, you have to pack that sh1t, load up your trunk, drive to lowyat, carry that crap to Viewnet, and do you think there will be 1-1 replacement? LMAO! What's next? They call DELL and DELL replace the unit for them. In the end, the clown have to travel again to lowyat and carry it back home? And with all the trouble, the price paid is RM100 more (2407WFP) than buying from DELL? Even a six grade can do the math.

To be honest... one reason why I opt for DELL is because there is no need for me to go to shops... plus the warranty and great service policy they offered to me. And for your information I don't have a credit card... I just opt for cheque and they cam collect it. Everything settled in one day. The only reason why I received my LCD two weeks later is because of the sudden boom in consumer side where suddenly so many people get that same LCD as me and thus.. resulted in the shortage of supplies. Normally it will only takes around 2 days before you received your goods (a friend of mine bought DELL 2007WFP from them.. and received it two days later after order placed. He choose the same payment method as me... which is via cheque). Their policy is great... with just a phone call everything was settled very fast. No need for me to go all the way to the shop. And if somehow I am not satisfied with the goods... a phone call can already arrange a refund procedure with no questions asked. I'm a very satisfied customer of DELL.. and will definitely look forward on dealing with them again. And somehow I feel more comfortable and somewhat secured dealing directly with DELL instead of through the shops.

Mine took less than 1 week from order date to delivery date (CC 12 months installment plan). Any problem with LCD, just 1 phone call to their tech support. If requires a replacement, they will send it to your home, hassle free.

Whoa...I'm only speculating that those could be the reasons. I'm not saying buying from Viewnet is a better option.

Dell is definitely lower its price further from current promo price RM849. Samsung 226BW is dropping as well..Retail is only at RM1100 level.
Featuring LCD still would be 19" entry level & widescreen during PC Fair.

I don't think further price reduction for DELL LCD during the fair is going to happen. The current promotion runs till 06/08/2007, and the PCFAIR is on 3-5 August 2007.

QUOTE(jasonkwk @ Jul 24 2007, 01:48 AM) is buying LCD monitor is going to be cheaper at PC fair? PC fair will not slash the prices by great extent, no matter how cheap it would be it won't beat the LYN bulk prices. And I don't think Dell will do cash and carry in PC fair booth?

dont waste ur time with PC Fair. during PC Fair u go to LYP and buy ur stuff there...should have a lesser crowd. and prices oso roughly the same. our PC Fair here is a real joke honestly. go to singapore's PC Fair and they slash prices like mad! even dell online oso same price as PC Fair..and like dattebayo said..dell wont do Cash & carry for their monitors. u order there and then they'll deliver. same thing as ordering from the comfort of ur own home the only reason i would go to PC Fair is to get some blank CD/ DVDs. even that oso wasting time only can get at LYP oso unless of course i go there just to look at the girls
