I mainly using for doing Web/Graphic Design, movie, web surfing & also some gaming
need.

Need opinion from u'all  biggrin.gif

*
For web design, wide-screen monitor is not suitable la, but for graphic design wide-screen is really cool biggrin.gif

Go for 2007WFP for the brilliant colors icon_rolleyes.gif

may i know how is the viewing angle of  Dell E228WFP 22" Entry Wide Screen Flat Panel LCD Monitor....
can anyone show the picture of its view from different angle....
thanks.....
*
E228WFP is TN panel, viewing angle is 160°. So when you view the monitor from side, top or bottom, the screen will look a lot darker.

I was using Stuck pixel program to fix it, it just wont work out.
Izzit Red Pixel = Stuck Pixel & Black = Dead Pixel ?

Call to Dell just now, they said u only got exchnge with at least 7 dead pixels. ohmy.gif
*
View your screen on a solid white color background. If you see small black dot pixel, it is DEAD pixel. Stuck pixel (Red, Green or Blue color pixel) may gone after a while or they will stay there forever.

My E228WFP also got some dead pixels problem, but not as much as 7 dead pixels. I was lucky enough to get my LCD replacement for dead-pixels claim.

Call to Dell again & asking for exchnge due to stuck pixel problem,
they said no, then i had no choice but to ask for refund. biggrin.gif ,
& i had to pay 80bucks for pick up charges sad.gif .
*
Oh, then i must be really lucky to get my replacement LCD. Actually i call Dell, then they pass the line to the technician department, then the technician ask me to post the screen-shot of my screen(i use digital camera) and send through email. Two days later, the technician reply my email and i get my replacement LCD from Singapore.

*
yup...me too using cleaner liquid. Very easy & safe to clean LCD screen. Just spray on the screen and gently wipe off with a soft cloth. The liquid just cost about RM10, very cheap thumbup.gif

I also do not think Dell would need any photo as evidence. Today, when Dell arrives, my friend ask the courier person whether they need to check the LCD problem or not first before replacing it but they say no need. Straight pack it into the box and replace with another unit...

*
My E228WFP got 2 to 4 dead/stuck pixels within the few days of arrival, so i called up DELL. They did ask me to take photo of the dead pixel on my screen by using digital camera and send e-mail to the technician. And, i got my E228WFP replacement.

wanna ask sifu(s) here is it widescreen LCD 22", 20" has big viewwing different with 19"?
currently looking for Dell ws LCD but duno which one to choose. Among the choice(s) are :
SE198WFP
E207WFP
E228WFP
ps: I'm using VIA onboard graphic, don't really sure can support ws resolution or not.  icon_question.gif
*
22" widescreen is alot bigger than 20" widescreen. Your onboard graphic probably can support normal use only not for gaming. So, is better for you to get 20" or 19" widescreen without the need of new graphic card.

yup both 20" & 22" widescreen is same 1680 x 1050 resolution, but 22" has the bigger screen and have a fairly large pixel size, 0.282mm and 20" widescreen at the same resolution offers a pixel size of 0.258 mm.

I feel that 20"ws is quite alot big compare with 19"ws LCD.
But Dell 20" and 22" entry level ws LCD contrast only 800:1. Is it acceptable for HD movie playback and gaming?
*
For me, I'm satisfied with the HD movie playback on my E228WFP. mengfui, your VIA onboard graphic card cannot tahan the latest new games. Even my 5900XT have to set at lower quality/resolution in order to play new games.

QUOTE(mfa333 @ Jul 17 2007, 06:51 PM)
means if got over 7 dead pixel Dell will replace with a new lcd?
*
Yup, you are right. 7 dead pixels policy.

QUOTE(akachester @ Jul 17 2007, 10:05 PM)
Yes, thats their original policy. However, there are some people who had received a new LCD before just because of 1 dead pixel. What you should do is, call them and let them know you have dead pixel. They come, they exchange, and they will go without asking any questions..
*
That some people is me tongue.gif

For me, it's just annoying to see the dead pixel on my new screen, so I complain to Dell loh. I can say that their after-sales service are excellence and helpful. First, I though of rugi RM80 to send it back to Dell but then they agreed to get the replacement for me.

QUOTE(clayclws @ Jul 17 2007, 09:57 PM)
Just want to know...anyone having 2 different resolution monitors side by side, for example, one 24" 16:10 and 19" 5:4? How is the experience? I'm thinking of using multiple monitors. not sure whether I should go for 24" (Dell at RM1899) to be paired with my current 19" or two 22" (LG at RM2000)... Suggestion and/or experience?
*
It's ok to have 2 different resolution monitors side by side, I feel comfortable with it. But never pair CRT & LCD together, it's just so sakit mata. Believe me, you would never want to look at the CRT screen when you got LCD on the other side.

Would you mind going through the sequence of events re: your conversation with Dell? I am thinking of doing the same thing myself. They will send you a replacement first?
*
Actually, it takes quite a few phone call. 1st call, i let the sales person know about the dead pixel. 2nd call, the sales manager (i guess) call me again to analyze the situation. 3rd call, they get the technician to verify the matter. Strangely, the technician ask me to get the snapshot of the dead pixel. So i take photo using camera loh, so hard to get the picture clear. Then send email to them. 2 days later only, i got the call from logistic department for confirming the date of getting the replacement of my new LCD (from Singapore). Took almost 1 week to get my new replacement. And they didn't even take back the another faulty LCD. So i got 2 LCDs, testing & playing around for 3 days before i call them and they take back the other one.

They didnt took back the faulty one?LOL..You must be one lucky guy in the first place being able to play with it for another few days..

When i received my replacement unit, it came with a whole bunch of letters stating that i should return the faulty unit in 10 days time IF it is not given back to the courier service when they arrive. If after 10 days and i have yet to return it to them, they will charge me by stating its sold to me already..
*
Actually, i was puzzled because the courier guy refused to take it back on the same day they deliver the new replacement LCD to my house. Even Dell didn't bother to call up to take back the faulty LCD. So I played around with 2 LCDs for few days before call them to take it back.

Hey guys how sure are you that Dell lets you keep the LCD for 10 days? They're sending the replacement tomorrow and I totally forgot to ask them about that when Logistics called me to confirm.
*
The courier guy will include a notice together with your LCD replacement. The notice will mention about what to do with your faulty product.

1. Pack the defective part using the same packing material supplied for the replacement part.
2. Seal the packaging materials with the same defective parts to be returned.
3. Contact Dell Logistics Provider at +603-5191 3325 and arrange for the collection of the consignment.
4. Upon arrival of the Dell Logistics Provider at your office/home for collection, please write your name on the Collection Note. Please also sign and add your company stamp on the Collection Note.

If the detective part not returned to Dell within 10 business days, an invoice will be issued accordingly for the value of the part, with payment required within 30 days from the Invoice date. In the event of the Invoice, the replacement part will be priced at Dell's current price.

Didnt i remember people mentioning here that DVI and VGA cable is included?  sweat.gif LOL...Anyway, sell off those cables lor. I even got additional dvi and vga cable from Dell as well since they did not take back those cables when they replace my LCD..
*
Aiyo, i thought of keeping the extra DVI & VGA cables when they send me the replacement LCD. I scared they will charge me for stealing the extra cables, so i returned it back. unsure.gif
