good.... that's show how professional our "Malaysia" are handling customer.
Anyways... I hope everyone here can unite and fight back Streamxy
Maxis has 1MB plans with modem included... Might can try them as well. The price I think is RM100 per month for that.

Getting Started

I just upgraded my line to 4mbps, and I noticed that my line get disconnected every 5 minutes, so i called them up, and they told me not to use the router built-in dialer and use the software dialer instead, using the windows software dialer indeed able to stay online a bit longer but it still get disconnected after 1 hour or more, but then I told them it is not possible, since I use the internet connection for Windows, Linux, Windows Mobile and other operating system, it is very hard to configure connection sharing using software, then they said streamyx is working to fix this problem and I am not the only one facing this problem in my area, so as mention in the previous post, this package is not ready yet, we are just a guinea pig for their testing.

Looks like Bangsar and Damansara areas are badly affected. In one of my numerous calls the Helpline personnel said they are upgrading the lines in the area to solve the problem. My thinking is - "bro, if it takes you a couple of weeks/months to upgrade the wiring in Bangsar and Damansara - don't tell me I have to suffer the frequent disconnection until the work is completed!".

Has anyone tried changing the crappy Billion 5112S modem for another modem, for example a Linksys or Aztech one? Does it help?
I can't even tell if the ADSL light on the modem works properly - it seems to blink at a very high frequency but the modem can still connect, but it disconnects every 5 minutes.
In comparison, the previous Aztech modem I had when I had the 2MB package had a steady light and was so stable the connection could be maintained up to 1 month.
Added on July 4, 2007, 4:14 pmWas told by Streamyx Helpline can ask for a rebate by quoting the report no. Apparently, that's why they want us to take down the report no.

QUOTE(rayfoo @ Jul 4 2007, 06:10 AM) secret pin number? special customer numbeR? first time i'm hearing all this , i sympathize with all the users who are having problems with their 4mb connections, my advice would be to downgrade back to 1mb Can we downgrade from 4Mbps back to 1Mbps... any penalty ?

Nope - he didn't explain to me the meaning of the different blinking speed... Please share if you know what it means! Also - please let me know the model of your Linksys ADSL modem - it's obviously compatible with the 4 MB signal. Also - the latest is my speed has been downgraded back to 2MB. At least it's more stable now and doesn't disconnect. This post has been edited by ProComplex: Jul 5 2007, 12:20 AM

sorry forgot already that day he explain to me hehe...anyway my linksys modem is plain linksys am300 , some might call it crap , but it serves my purpose running a server that is up for 20 hours a day, heavy downloading and uploading at the same time, works just fine at 4mb , hell it working now at my 4mb++ speed hehe...probably your line cant cope 4mb ...maybe u can post your line stats here?
