i got debit cards but i only use the cards for Atm purpose. i use credit card for retail purchase. recently alliance bank give me a platinum debit card. i tried to use it coz it gives 1.5% cashback. but when i swipe the card in giant, no pin no enter is needed. also in petronas counter, no need to enter pin, just like normal credit card. but i can't use it at pump, have to go to counter to swipe. i made all these swipes more than a week ago, but when i check my online current acc, all these transactions are not recorded. the money is not deducted from my current acc. where all the transactions have gone??? that means i don't need to pay to alliance bank? free lunch huh?

It works like a credit card. If you're a credit card user and track your spending online you will know that it always takes a few days before the charges appear in your online banking account. You do not have to worry for Maybank. They will definitely deduct the amount swiped from your savings/current account biggrin.gif

hi i'm an alliance debit cd user as well, notice this problem as well not really sure why but it does takes a very long time to be reflected on INB, it does really bothers when one is a frequent user as hard to keep track the exact amt left in the a/c and not to mention earmark amt as well, when wanna use for retail transaction can't go through malu sial.... laugh.gif

it depends on them...some has no limit like jusco....RM1 also can swipe...but better you ask them first because i experienced before.a saloon said need at least RM60 and above only can swipe.one DVD shop said i need to buy at least RM80 only can swipe.if not, they will charge i think around 3% interest

In fact when merchants sign contract with bank (visa or mastercard), they must agree that they will never set limit for the usage and they wont charge customer the interest. But looks like everyone also doin it and dont treat it as big deal.
