Public Bank Day2Day VISA Debit retail purchase limit is defaulted at RM2000/day while Citibank VISA Debit is RM5000/day. If i'm not mistaken, Maybank VISA Debit is set at RM500/day but you could change the limit over any Maybank ATM anytime.

I'm not sure if Public Bank Day2Day VISA Debit and Citibank VISA Debit daily purchase limit can be changed but for Citibank VISA Debit, one can actually disable the VISA function and it will then only act like regular ATM card.

once u lost ur wallet , u lose the debit card , u lose the debit card , greedy person will take ur debit card to shopping and u lost ur money !

So you must take care for your debit card Anything happen just call cs to terminate your card.

there's one thing called phone...u need to call them ASAP so they can freeze ur account

normally when u use the debit card, they need ur personal pin
number in order to purchase somethin... i guess its like that..
But why don u go for prepaid card,.. Ambank NextG prepaid card
gv many benefits.. pm me la if interested...
it can be use at any petrol kiosk.. BUt debit card cannot..

put a limit to your debit card account, or else just call ur bank and ask to freeze all account inside it.

Most of the debit card can swap at pump petrol, no need to to counter and swap.

Standard Chartered debit card don't have this features to set your purchase limit, cs say that they will improve this service.

wao... is it true.. i am using maybank debit card and also this tune card,. i dunno why at petrol station cannot use er... really weird.. hehe... according to people, they say because debit cards use pin code..

The reason ppl dont swap at pump using debit coz the bank will hold ur RM200 for 2 days....

On the otherhand

I applied CIMB eMasterCard (debit card) on 11 July and i get my card today! (7 WORKING DAYS ONLY)
Far more better than apply Public Bank Visa Electron which took me 3 week.
I applied online at saturday night.

You should maintain minimum balance before you swap the card at petrol pump. If not mistaken it is RM250
Bank will hold RM250 and then refund the balance to you after 3 or 4 days.
Pin provide for you is to check and withdraw balance at the ATM.

Thats the condition while you want to use your debit card to buy the petrol
Public bank take longer to approve their debit card, don't know why

oh like that... okey okey..... a bit of problem ler... prepaid card i guess don hv this conditions..
reload and use how much u reload.. haha.. don need to worry about maintaining the balance er..

Each debit or prepaid card have different condition, make sure you read the T&C before you going to apply or use

i tot MBB is deducting RM200 instead of RM250 when you use it in petrol station?

yeap... i am quite sure of prepaid card but not the debit... hehe...

normally we just buy it and use it not like credit card coz we scared how much we use we also dunno..
and if there is a interest charge... GONE CASE>. hehe..

Remember last time use my debit card to pump petrol it deduct RM250 since the petrol price at RM2.70 per litre.
Now the petrol price drop to RM1.80, they deduct the authorize charge.
No longer use debit card so don't know the exactly amount of authorize charge

Thats why they print the receipt for customer copy and online statement to keep track your money.
I don't think debit card got interest charge, if you say service charge, its depend on the merchant.
You ask for the cashier is that any service charge if you want to pay with debit card.

hmm, i was wondering, wen purchase stuff from internet, on the name place, should i put the name on the card or my real name (As on IC) that i use to register?

Put the name that printed at the card.

It was only RM150 early last year. I used my Standard Chartered e$aver Mastercard everytime i pumped petrol because of the 7% rebate last time

hmm, can the debit mastercard/Visa need a minimum amount inside? or can pakai till RM0?

For Public Bank Visa Electron or ING Master card, both account should maintain minimum RM25, thats mean you cannot swap if your account have RM25 balance.
I am not so sure about other debit card.
