Hmm yea can also. You might have to search online for third party Astro installers. You can search keywords like "Astro installers" on Facebook search too.

Assuming you're using either HD or PVR box, press "home" button on remote, then Settings>STB Diagnostics.
Then, on top corner of your TV screen, what is the % readings shown for Strength and Quality?

so ch310 becomes 80% tvb jade & 20% wlt

QUOTE(alexleow81 @ Mar 10 2020, 09:08 PM)
I think the merge between WLT and TVB Jade is good. At least 80% content from TVB JADE we r able to see latest content from HK. The 20% WLT is to air local LIVE local Chinese Programmes and RTHK and other TV station programmes.

Forget about whatever you know about the "Astro Wah Lai Toi | Jade Pack" those sweet talks from Astro's statement...
This EDM (electronic direct mail) being sent to the advertisers by Astro has made everything much clearer now.

In comparison to Astro's official statement on social media:
QUOTE
We aspire to serve Malaysians with high quality, fresh and compelling content, and to do this, we are realigning our offerings to better serve our customers.
Starting 1 April 2020, Astro’s Cantonese content offering is now bigger than ever with addition of Astro Wah Lai Toi content as part of Wah Lai Toi | TVB Jade Channel on Channel 310. Astro Wah Lai Toi will transition to be exclusively available via On Demand and on Astro GO.
Wah Lai Toi | TVB Jade airs the latest TVB primetime dramas and sitcoms same time as Hong Kong, offering the best variety and current affairs programmes as well as the best in entertainment from Hong Kong. A great selection of movies and musical shows will be available on weekends, catering to the diverse group of viewers.
All Dynasty Pack customers will have access to TVB Jade starting 10 March 2020.
Ok, enough those bulls**t sweet talk.

Astro might as well just tell customer that "TVB JADE REPLACES ASTRO WAH LAI TOI"? That clears up so much confusion by many.
Literally ceasing Astro WLT linear TV channel and replace by TVB Jade to save cost, and also pretty quiet to announce their cessation on Asian Action Channel and TVB Classic Movies starting 5 April,
To me this is like, Astro and its customer service just want to avoid overwhelm "PR disaster" especially from Astro Wah Lai Toi's loyal viewers for decades, so they rather "turn around the roundabout repeatedly and refuse to exit the roundabout" and emphasise that selected Astro WLT contents would be available exclusively on VOD and Astro Go. But as they explain this to you, you would calm down cuz you're putting hopes that you may still continue watching some of your shows somewhere else, then at a later date, you would forget about it already. Their marketing and PR department very smart la biggrin.gif
No proper and detailed FAQ are given to explain, instead, wait until customers make noise then only entertain them.

See the difference? Where is that "Astro Wah Lai Toi | TVB Jade"? Instead, only TVB Jade HD? No balls to handle customer's criticism, saying that Astro Wah Lai Toi channel is being replaced?
That shows how different the way they treat their viewers, versus the advertisers, where they explain in a more direct and straightforward manner to the advertisers.

Ok lah. Some better news to share here:

Astro wah lai toi and tvb jade will be in 1 channel? And no sd simulcast?

QUOTE(eyesee @ Mar 10 2020, 03:45 PM)
Looks like Jade Pack will be removed.

WLT removed, to be replaced with TVB Jade/WLT combo. Force WLT(SD) viewers to upgrade to HD

Well, as long you're not using legacy Astro box, no need to worry.

If legacy Astro box's death date on this coming 15 March 2020 really happens as scheduled, then by the time the channel renumbering on 1 April, no need to even think about whether need to subscribe to HD or not to watch it. Literally, you will be able to watch it regardless of any Astro STB models you use, and of course, provided your subscription has Dynasty pack.

This mean at least 2 TV feeds for these following channels: Hua Hee Dai, AEC, Wah Lai Toi (to be closed), Prima, Warna and Citra if Astro wants to do regional targetted ads that can be only seen in Northern region and East Coast region.

In the UK, ITV sends 18 SD and 11 HD feeds (due to capacity issues not all feeds are available in HD) on satellite for a single channel for regional news service, localised advertising and allowing some variation for regional programming(It isn't too much nowadays if compare to the past since the ITV channels now have the same programming during primetime). Channel 4 sends 6 SD feeds and 1 HD feed (again due to capacity issues) on satellite for advertising proposes even it is a national channel without program variations.

🤔, this means that Astro is cutting down on their in-house channels( such as Astro WLT) to make up for the cost of having different feed?

I wonder is the feed delivered via which area physically it's located or it uses registered address

Maybe, as different feed is necessary for regional advertising. The delivered feed is likely based on the registered/installation address as you will need to give an address when you are installing Astro/NJOI service at your home. This concept is not new for Astro, as they had been selling regional spots on their radio stations for some time, even having local stations for Sabah and Sarawak.

This should be the next move. Might as well just get the previous/missed episodes from AstroGO (they are already available there) since WLT going to AstroGO too.

Unless can subscribe AOD only devil.gif

Just wondering.
Less than 1-2 hours earlier, there's quite a number of users posted on Astro fb page, saying that many channels went no signal even there's no rain earlier...
Did any of you guys experience the same?

Hmm okay. What time you start to see that happens?
Besides Hits (ch720), what else (that you still remember of)?
How about SD channels?

If any of you guys also experienced the same, do share the information on what are the channels that you face the same signal disruption earlier...
I found out that they've done some technical adjustments especially on the video, but I wanna "collect more info" from others first...
