Hi, does anyone knows how to change Astro from satellite mode to iptv mode? Astro provided us a temporary solution where it would connect to the satellite

Hi, lately noticing that my Astro iptv multicast connection seems to be unstable, occasionally would lag/choppy or it would say network connection not available but it would return to normal after a while. Internet is maxis (maxis fiber backbone). Any idea of how to troubleshoot/fix this issue? Already tried rebooting Astro, router , modem

QUOTE(joshhd @ Oct 20 2018, 11:39 PM) Do make sure all LAN cable connections on your Astro box and router are properly connected. And try reboot all Astro box and routers to see if issue still persists. Astro came and check and they said that they can’t do much about the problem(number of people are having this problem according to Astro ), they are pointing towards maxis issue.Since yours is under Maxis fibre backbone, there's nothing much you can do about it as hybrid mode (switch to satellite mode) is not possible. You got to inform this to Astro IPTV department and let them assist you from there. Update : yesterday evening till now multicast down( network connection not available) they didn’t even give satellite temporary access during their visit( they gave temporary satellite access when house internet is down) This post has been edited by yongtjunkit: Oct 25 2018, 07:14 AM |

QUOTE(eyesee @ Jan 10 2019, 12:27 AM) Anyone's PVR cannot record certain channels? So far I found that Ch350, 834, 841 cannot be recorded. Nothing happens when you press record. It actually gets added to the booking list but the recording does not start The pause and rewind function cannot work for those channels as well. Having this issue on Astro iptvSeem to have started some time on the 9 Jan 2019 til now. Was ok on 8 Jan at least for ch350 as I have set it to series record. |

Millions are spent to curb piracy why cant they spend think abt giving reasonably priced service? Monopoly is the root of all evil, control and eat all for themselves! I wonder if this would affect Astro IPTV service, or just Astro satellite customersEven Singapore's pay TV, Singtel TV, are also affected. https://www.facebook.com/singtel/posts/10156864367861677 it is believed that there's some technical issue on the Measat 3a satellite (C band), which seem to causes the issue, as all the channel source mentioned in that post, are from the same Measat 3a satellite source. But it was ratify hours later. |

QUOTE(joshhd @ May 18 2019, 12:02 PM) Not day to day use. Oh, so now one of the new features is streaming directly using on-demand + new UI, so when the new firmware gets publicly released, I guess it would be ok to not have an internet connection to it(If you don't use on demand)? At least 10Mbps is required for watching On Demand content to buffer and work properly. For now, the new UI only stream On Demand content, adaptive bit rate streaming, meaning if your Internet is fast, you'll watch it in HD. If slow, then poorer quality, similar to Astro Go. It does not download and save the On Demand to the hard disk like the previous UI. So if you have a slow Internet connection (<10Mbps), this may affect your user experience of accessing On Demand content. |

QUOTE(kkm @ May 19 2019, 08:23 AM) I have a newer model PVR with "wifi" marked in front. But I don't see the wifi under Settings -> Network. Is there a switch or something? Using IPTV? IPTV usually disables the WiFi function And for some reason Astro decided not to have IPTV support with the new firmware |

QUOTE(brandonkl @ May 19 2019, 12:31 PM) I had this problem 2 years ago. You have to call Astro to push a special WiFi update to your device to fix it. If after software update, still no WiFi, then the WiFi function is broken, like my PVR. So had to change a PVR and was charged RM100. If using IPTV, still can get wifi function? Thought that the decoder disables it once it's in IPTV mode( it connects via ethernet) |
