True true.

Soon, campro will be history?
*
Campro already history long ago, now is VVT engine. Much better fuel consumption and performance for current Proton Model.

And of course don't compare to Perodua and Proton. Apple and Pear?

Comparing previous Saga Campro engine and current VVT engine. You'll have a clearer picture of it.

And also for Proton until today still adsorbing SST, which is very good for all buyers. I can see a future in proton as the market share increasing.

Happened to see a X70 with painted cladding. The owner did it on his own and it looked so good actually, to me wink.gif

Does all the negative comments about carbon build up in GDI engines deter you guys from buying the x70

There is no way to clean the carbon build in GDI engines short of doing a top overhaul right.

But what would be the recommended mileage to do it

What to do? The only engines I can think of with dual injection (direct & port injections) is Toyota & Nissan (think also maybe VW). Not sure if the Lexus sold here has this dual injector engine.

Cleaning carbon? Yes top overhaul is best. But other methods such as walnut blasting & some controversial method of using oxy-hydrogen (???) .... Desmond of KL Auto (Yes, that Desmond of Autofoam) has a Taiwanese machine doing just that.

When to do? Varying recommendations, from as low as 30k km to 30k MILES !!! You decide. But it mostly depends on driving conditions, maintenance, fuel quality (Euro 2M Vs 4M in Boleh-Land), regular Italian tune-ups or not.. yada yada.

Edit: added link to that Taiwan made machine

anyone bought the excutive 2wd?
Does it comes with blind spot indicator?

Don't feel like getting the premium because some of the features like sunroof, ADAS, nappa are not really important to me. Can save around 15k for that!

No blis for exec

Extra rm14k gets you
19 inch wheels...not important
Nappa leather seats.... comfortable
Sunroof ..... most of us not keen on that
Adas... the only feature you cant add after market
And it save lives.... it alone is worth the money
Passenger adjustable seat... a frill
Kenwood speakers... can upgrade anytime
Full nappa leather steering ..cant see a diff at all.
Tire pressure sensing .. not sure if important?

After the X70 is CKD I really hope that the local proton management will listen to feedbacks and make some changes to the premiums spec such as

Using just 18 inch tyres. This is the best compromise between comfort and handling and looks as 19 inch is overkill

Remove the sunroof or make it optional add on

Jusy taking out the above 2 could easily shave off at least 5k to 8k in price and make the x70 premium even more attractive to buy and own for long term

Most dislike sunroof but if you tint it well the diffused light into the cabin is very nice and it feels more spacious.
