proton having open day today and tomorrow, go testing
*
you can forget about testing if you are not serious in purchasing because a lot of showroom want to collect booking fees and loan documents only they allow you to test drive.

why? because proton hq doesnt provide any test drive units to any showroom while the directors from authorized dealer have to purchase one for themselves.

I tested in the Semenyih Proton dealer, the test drive unit is the premium variant.
*
good to hear that. premium quite good to try for everything. X70 is actually quite a nice car and value for money.

Just can't logic that why ppl keep comparing b segment to suv. Of course different fuel consumption
*
don't be surprised, sometimes I encounter friends ask me to compare toyota Vios and Perodua Myvi.

sometimes people comparing within their budget, some people comparing within the size.

Even same engine but different body will affect a lot in FC.

Mass, driver behavior, acceleration, how many passengers, tyre size, tyre air, bodykit, engine tuning and etc.

Even if you can direct compare the SUV, the result ain't right for different variables too.

Surely cross segment or cross type compare nothing wrong on it.
But still there will be people will make some non sense conclusion like: why I gonna get x70/hrv/forester(same price range) when vois I can get two...
*
you only have a butt how to sit 2 carS? so is a poor comparison

Yea. That just an example. And eventually one or two people tell me that. (can for family mah)
But we here have no super fans boy like paultan comment section. So less people make butthurt conclusion.

Mostly people afford the car sure afford the fuel. But if it efficiency enough + low maintenance. So there can save money for other stuff.
*
Good cars comes with their consequences. Luxury comfort comes with huge maintenance. Cheap and good fuel consumption comes with cheap maintenance but drawback will be smaller in size and safety comprises.

Depends on what you want for you and your family, judgement of good cars are vary from person to person.

but the SA says only get LOU first, then only car is allocated to the dealer; unless the dealers tipu HQ  biggrin.gif
*
normally allocation queue based on LOU yes. And a lot of dealer who has high in volume normally cheat stock. Actually HQ know it, just close one eye because they are one of the main supporter.

Do you even believing them?

End of the day, they will change bigger rims and add bodykit for their Myvi or Vios..

That will be nothing to do with fuel saving already.
*
Nope. 1 ear in 1 ear out. In the end just depends on individuality and their likes and don't.

One salesman told me only 10000 units are cbu.  Then the rest will be cold from tanjung malim.

But I also heard booking close to 20000 units.  Will it be 20000 units cbu now?
*
Initially only mentioned 2000 units cbu, but until now plant still can't comply with manufacturing of X70. So they keep importing instead of ckd

Don't be disappointed if CKD price will be either same or very little reduction only.

Localisation is going to start at a very small % & the small volume would mean cost prices will still be higher than if imported from China.

Historically (using Inspira as example), first batch CBU price = subsequent CKD, with CKD having nicer facelift and/or more goodies (usually trims). Historically also, CKD quality drops (Vs CBU) but Geely has been working very hard to improve Proton Tanjung Malim QA/QC. They're yet to reach Geely standard of QC but close. Still far away from Volvo QC.

Personally, if Geely continue to be hands on at Tanjung Malim, there is hope for Proton improvement as Geely plans to use Tanjung Malim as the global RHD manufacturing plant, hence QA/QC is crucial especially for exports.
*
Yeap, and if you guys noticed, coming persona facelift all follow Geely standards, all will be coming out good products. Perodua market shares will be shaken.

In times it will as you can see each year proton plan to launch a new model under Geely standards. The engine coming in is just the matter of time

True true.

Soon, campro will be history?
*
Campro already history long ago, now is VVT engine. Much better fuel consumption and performance for current Proton Model.

And of course don't compare to Perodua and Proton. Apple and Pear?

Comparing previous Saga Campro engine and current VVT engine. You'll have a clearer picture of it.

And also for Proton until today still adsorbing SST, which is very good for all buyers. I can see a future in proton as the market share increasing.
