FC is the main concern for those who are coming from B Segment (Vios City etc). Those that already research before buying SUV already know the higher fuel consumption of SUV, so high FC is a non issue. They can afford it.

What this segment (those coming from B Segment) should really worry about is the maintenance cost. As I wrote earlier, the 19" tyres aren't cheap (RM600 per piece), yearly spark plugs replacement (RM112), coolant (RM119) & ATF (RM500) at 60,000 (3rd year) service. Wait till they see the price of shock absorber, suspension mounting, lower arm, brake pads ... All these gotta carry a 1.7 tons SUV.
*
What is the price difference between the 19, 18 and 17 inch tyres based on popular brands from premium such as Michelin. Continental to mid range brands such as Hankook.

The RM600 for 19 inch tyres is from which brand

Also any idea what is the ride height of the X70.

Is it higher or lower than the Aruz at 230 mm

Does all the negative comments about carbon build up in GDI engines deter you guys from buying the x70

There is no way to clean the carbon build in GDI engines short of doing a top overhaul right.

But what would be the recommended mileage to do it

No blis for exec

Extra rm14k gets you
19 inch wheels...not important
Nappa leather seats.... comfortable
Sunroof  ..... most of us not keen on that
Adas... the only feature you cant add after market
And it save lives.... it alone is worth the money
Passenger adjustable seat... a frill
Kenwood speakers... can upgrade anytime
Full nappa leather steering ..cant see a diff at all.
Tire pressure sensing .. not sure if important?
*
After the X70 is CKD I really hope that the local proton management will listen to feedbacks and make some changes to the premiums spec such as

Using just 18 inch tyres. This is the best compromise between comfort and handling and looks as 19 inch is overkill

Remove the sunroof or make it optional add on

Jusy taking out the above 2 could easily shave off at least 5k to 8k in price and make the x70 premium even more attractive to buy and own for long term

wtf..

225/40/R19 tire cost RM1.28k per piece?!!!!
https://www.mudah.my/225+40+R19+Pirelli+P+Z...at-70960257.htm

WTF. Not sure can use other size of tyre like 255/35/R19?
https://www.mudah.my/255+35+R19+Toyo+PXT1+S...238313.htm#show
*
The X70 is using

225/65/17
225/60/18
225/55/19

the lower profile the tyre for 19 inch the more expensive I suppose but also ride will be very harsh

Anyone got price list of the common 225/55/19 tyres

IIRC, you can get Nexen 225/55/19 tyres for RM5xx/piece in Sunway, Quicksave, etc.
Might be able to get cheaper in Klang/Meru
*
That's not too bad.

What about Hankook or Continental

Suppose that the Michelin will cost a bomb

Hi owners of x70, how is the practical usage of your boot space.

Saw the x70 in a shopping mall and the boot space is much smaller than the crv and looks like almost same size as hrv only.

How many luggage bags can fit in the boot. Anyone can try to take pictures of the boot filled with luggage

X70 512 litres
Crv  522 litres....
Diff    10 litres smaller

On paper it may seem that way but if you looks at the comparison by paulbo tan and even real life look it would seem that the x70 boot is much smaller

The top pic is x70, bottom left is crv and bottom right is Subaru XV

QUOTE(Vervain @ Mar 15 2020, 02:12 PM)
No such thing as to single press put huge load on battery, the system has a computerized relay function. with old cars with single press start you will see the radio restart but not for modern cars anymore. 3 press on the other hand disrupts the stability of the current and disrupts the self check sequence because you do not let the ECU to control what is required. in shot your battery will die faster.
Update your CCU air con. They can slow down the flaps for the air being drawn in. They cannot fully close the external air from coming in as it will cook the dashboard. Heater core is underneath our dash.
No such rubbish. we are running high impedance piezo injectors with direct injection setup not the stone age multipoint injector. The pressure is much higher compared to older cars. there is no need wait for it to build up pressure as the start sequence will allow the highspeed pump to build up the optimum pressure.
because no manufacturer officially states the need to press 2 or 3 times. its a myth that we malaysian created. go else where around the world and the people will laugh at us.
wrong. refer to above. as long as your car is not key to ignition or starter control, keyless start gives the ECU full control.

For the record, if you press 3 times the start button for start sequence, you run the higher chance of logging more error codes resulting in powerloss of and increase fc of up to 10%. Reason being is you disrupt the canbus communication. Modules which detect loss of connection or communication interruption will kick off errors in your diagnostics. I've tested this for 8 months and this is a major design issue. As for CKD, I haven't have a car to test. lastly when you 3 button start the car, essentially you're robbing current load. this stresses the battery more as it's already supplying current to all your electronics which are running then later need to supply additional current to crank start the engine.

This is quite a good reply but there was a video earlier that some people said was a proton rep saying to start must press 3x.

Perhaps if it was really a proton rep.. He should be api buntut dia

For those who have got their cars, can you shared in more detail how has been the DCT driving experience.

Is there any judder during stop and go traffic especially hill or multi storey car park, etc

How usable is the boot space with all seats up for Family holiday

Many thanks

Mine is at 13500km. DCT has No judder at all in all driving situations. Shifts are smoother than what I initially gave it credit for. Took it up and down Genting and blasting down ulu yam a few times. Only shortcoming is up shifts and down shifts are abit conservative thus slower to respond.
Handling is neat but can't hide the fact it is heavy. Consumption is heavy if ur foot is heavy.
Chassis has a very solid feel. I love that feeling. Used to own a German suv, and the x70 feels just as solid if not more solid.
Interior comfort is excellent. Safety systems are great. Saved me a couple of times.
Overall a very refined suv. Highly recommended.

Hi Bro, Tks for your response.

I have been driving manual most of my life and the auto that i drove has the 2 or L mode so when I go say Genting, i use the 2 or mode for more power and safety going downhill

How about the DCT

Did you leave on auto or use manual mode for your hill climbing

What is the best FC you got so far

Which specs did you get BTW

I realise if i dont fully commit to a hard accelaration, the gears will jerk as it changes gear. But if i commit fully, then smooth as butter, and alot of powrer. LOL

YS Khong did a YouTube video about the DCT.

He also said that DCT works best if you commit to an acceleration.

He says accelerate and don't take your foot of the pedal until you reach the speed that you want.

If you accelerate and then lift your foot of the throttle the DCT won't work so well. If you want to slow press the brake

Rm400 is a good price. Cheaper than the workshop that i went to. Look like this Zordaq is a port for Proton X series vehicles.

I think need a baroscope camera to peep through to view the carbon built up on the valves.

Below is one of the valves the guys sent to me - before pix.
