QUOTE(JohnLai @ Apr 18 2018, 01:30 PM) Know a bit. But still can't understand why Russia issue would affect our speed. Because if it does, it should affect the whole world right? So far I only know that it does hit the web users in Russia http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-43797176 But I couldn't figure why we in here would be hitted by this. Basically all international sites slow, including China website. However, youtube is fine.
And as usual, local website such as forum lowyat is not affected. |

The difference = other ISP technicians are competent to change the routing as soon as possible Our ISP technician = bangun pagi...gosok gigi...cuci muka ...... Even SG ISP already re-route their traffic to bypass russia. |

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Apr 18 2018, 01:45 PM) Unrelated to DNS. I've been trying to get a different ip for the last 2 weeks and have been stuck on 42.* range (sabah, kk). It's kind of frustrating especially since I know certain ip's are better for certain games I play. Still trying though. I hope it's not something permanent because 42.* range kind of sucks overall when it comes to international routing. What is your IP range assigned to your router? 115.134.*.* and 60.49.*.* is affected. Seems like Cloudflare host is affected while Linode aren't. Twitch.tv is completely dead, can't buffer anything. Twitter also very slow to load.
Edit: 175.142.*.* is affected as well. This post has been edited by ahpek26: Apr 18 2018, 02:02 PM |

QUOTE(Max2006 @ Apr 18 2018, 01:51 PM) Ok there must be some kind of black magic happening. After weeks of trying to get off 42.* range I finally did it few mins ago lol. I am on 1.32.* so maybe it takes a few hundred times more than usual to get it to change. Seems to be getting harder each time these days. Also, I can't vouch if 1.32.* was any better at routing compared to 42.* but I am finally able to reach the game server hosted on amazon right now. |

Simply scanning, or use static IP? |

Seems like 118.100.*.* can load twitter and buffering twitch.tv is perfect, no problem. Also no problem with cloudflare hosted website.
