Last night my Unifi disconnected. After restart, I got brand new Ip range that never encountered before.
42.xxx.xxx.xx
No matter how many times I restart the router, still get this IP range. No more 115.xx & 175.xx
Slightly unhappy about this since this new IP range speed is a bit slow.

QUOTE(azr84 @ Mar 30 2018, 01:11 PM) Same to me..for last 2 weeks But no issue with speed Puchong area Ampang area here. The browsing speed is about the same. But the download speed is a bit lower. I could notice the small difference because I am heavy downloader. The response time is also a bit slower. May be placebo effect, not too sure. 60.xx IP range is still the best. Sadly it's quite rare nowdays..... This post has been edited by Max2006: Mar 30 2018, 01:29 PM

QUOTE(zkteh @ Apr 3 2018, 04:31 PM) The final monthly price will remain unchanged even TM agreed to let her to terminate the Ruby Pack RM30 (I doubt that). I can confirm this when I request to downgrade Ruby Pack RM40 to RM30. Hi zkteh. What do you mean by this statement? Yesterday I went to TM point and requested them to change my old Ruby Pack (RM40) to the latest Ruby pack (RM30). The order is done and now my dashboard is showing Ruby Pack (Promo) instead of that old Ruby Pack 2. So my next monthly bill should be minus Rm10, isn't it? I also asked the counter about this and she said yes. This post has been edited by Max2006: Apr 3 2018, 07:11 PM

QUOTE(zkteh @ Apr 3 2018, 07:47 PM) Hi, Max2006 Because when TM gives discount, they only deduct from the internet part. When your ruby pack is less RM10, then TM will remove the extra RM10 discount on the internet. In other word, the final bill will not be changed. I assume you are 100Mbps user + jumbo + ruby 299 - 210 discount = 89 60 40 ----- 189 ----- After downgrade 40 to 30, will become like normal user 299 - 200 discount = 99 60 30 ---- 189 ---- After all, it depends the person who handles your downgrade order, if they say your monthly bill will become RM179, and your next bill confirms it, then congrats. Thank you. I see. Understood. Thanks for the explanation. Well, I guess I have to wait for the next bill and see what is changed. Hopefully everything is ok.

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Apr 18 2018, 01:30 PM) .....do you know how ISP routing works? Know a bit. But still can't understand why Russia issue would affect our speed. Because if it does, it should affect the whole world right? So far I only know that it does hit the web users in Russia http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-43797176But I couldn't figure why we in here would be hitted by this. That's why I asked. QUOTE(AVFAN @ Apr 18 2018, 01:35 PM) Been using dns 1.1.1.1 as primary for weeks now. All good, incl this morning, now. I am using Google DNS. Perhaps this is the reason why it's slow? Anyone can confirm this? This post has been edited by Max2006: Apr 18 2018, 01:37 PM

Basically all international sites slow, including China website. However, youtube is fine.
And as usual, local website such as forum lowyat is not affected.

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Apr 18 2018, 01:45 PM) Â It does affects whole world. The difference = other ISP technicians are competent to change the routing as soon as possible Our ISP technician = bangun pagi...gosok gigi...cuci muka ...... Even SG ISP already re-route their traffic to bypass russia. Argh! I see. Thanks bro. I almost forgot we are living in a country that have zero competency on internet service. QUOTE(Salamander @ Apr 18 2018, 01:50 PM) I've been trying to get a different ip for the last 2 weeks and have been stuck on 42.* range (sabah, kk). It's kind of frustrating especially since I know certain ip's are better for certain games I play. Still trying though. I hope it's not something permanent because 42.* range kind of sucks overall when it comes to international routing. Same here. Got this IP range since few weeks ago. And I think it's permenant......

QUOTE(soonwai @ Apr 18 2018, 04:56 PM) Depends on how they block it. If Russia blocks it at their routers then it should not affect us but it's a lot easier to block by using naughty BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) announcements, by mistake or intentional, in order to hijack/route traffic to Russia where they can then drop the traffic or perhaps capture it. A previous incident. https://arstechnica.com/information-technol...through-russia/Oh. Your explanation is much easier to understand. Thanks for the enlightment mate. Now the question is how soon will Tm acknowledge this and fix it ? I guess today can't do anything except for watching youtube tonight... This post has been edited by Max2006: Apr 18 2018, 05:00 PM

QUOTE(soonwai @ Apr 18 2018, 05:02 PM) What sites are not working for you all? I'm on 210.187.*.*. So far I tried all ok. twitch.tv, twitter.com, lazada, shopee, BBC.com, cnn.com... So far on my side, youtube and playstore are working fine. Other sites (local or international) are either slow or unreachable. And I am using IP range 42.xx here. And before you ask me to change my IP, sadly to say, can't do. My IP range was been fixed since few weeks ago. No matter how many time I reset the router, the IP range is still the same. So I guess I am stucked with the current situation.... This post has been edited by Max2006: Apr 18 2018, 05:08 PM

Hi guys. For anyone who still receive amount RM40 for old Hypp TV Ruby Pack 2 package on their bill, the amount won't be automatically changed to RM30 eventhough your package already upgraded to RM30 Ruby Plus. You have to go to TM point and ask them to rectify it.
Thanks to the advice from one of the LYN forumers here, I already did it last month. My latest bill came today and yes. My Ruby Pack 2 changed to Ruby plus and the amount is RM30 now. No extra downgrade charge or any hanky panky on the Internet package fee.

QUOTE(PJng @ Apr 23 2018, 11:23 PM) Any TM point or TM center? Yes. Just tell them about your bill, that your current hypp TV package is still Ruby pack 2 and charging your rm 40, and you want to change to the new Ruby plus which is rm 30. They can change it immediately in their system in no time.

QUOTE(christina1 @ Jul 5 2018, 02:16 PM) That's what I was told by TM staff wait for the announcement soon. Let's assume that CS staff was speaking the truth (as we know, sometimes their staff don't know much about the real info about their company strategy), then I guess the speed upgrade for current users are like following: Unifi lite 10Mbps upgrade to 30Mbps/50Mbps Unifi advance 30Mbps upgrade to 100Mbps Unifi advance plus 50Mbps upgrade to 200Mbps Unifi Pro 100Mbps upgrade to 300Mbps This is the most logical plan I can come up with. Let's wait for 12 July for more reveal. If my guess is correct, then I shall buy lottery afterwards. This post has been edited by Max2006: Jul 5 2018, 02:53 PM

QUOTE(Boldnut @ Jul 5 2018, 04:32 PM) Keep low expectation man, its TM here. Well, it's not wrong if you keep your expectation low. But I will keep faith and stick to my prediction. Afterall, they did say "more than double the speed". Unless I misunderstood the meaning of this term. If not, I don't think TM would dare to post fake news. Lol. QUOTE(christina1 @ Jul 5 2018, 05:56 PM) Strange is that TM haven't reduced the price for UNIFI Pro instead they offer more than double speed. 300Mbps will be under utilized for most of us. Need to check my ASUS 87U can support more than 300Mbps or not. As long as it's AC router, then it should be ok, for both wired and wiredless.
