The problem with the fourth way is that TM is a GLC meaning our government gets a share of TM's profits.
To force a price cut is to reduce income from TM.
This is like cutting off your own big toe to make the shoe fit.
*
You have to take into account new subscribers which will offset the price cut and market potential.
Our fixed broadband subscribers is very very low. Everytime, our politicians talk about broadband penetration, for sure they will include mobile/cellular subscribers to boost the numbers...

I have a really newbie question;

Is it recommended to leave unifi appliances powered on 24/7 ?

Or is there a downside, if I constantly plugged off all the unifi appliances everytime I goes to work?
*
Been using unifi for God knows how many years.. Nvr once switch it off lol.

Normally I will leave the power on. But when there is thunderstorm I would plug them off from the power socket.

It depends on your usage on internet, do you need to turn on 24/7 even nobody at home?
If nobody use it... just turn off + unplug to save energy, that's simple. laugh.gif

Unless any of your family member or yourself require to have internet access (or Unifi TV), just leave it on and unplug when not needed.
My practice: only turn off when at home, else turn off and unplug it. cool2.gif

in a way, u can consider yrself "lucky".
some r paying rm329 for 100mbps; some never get call; some call them but get rejected...
tm unifi work in strange ways - u never know if u will get a call again, what happens later... cheaper or not..?
but... 100mbsps is fabulous... if u need it.
no, not yr bad.
there are some rm169 + jumbo + ruby... no idea if small minority or a lot.
not me! laugh.gif
u gotta tell what router u have now... if not how people know it can do the job or not in order to comment?!! rolleyes.gif

opps , my bad, its a RG maritime, when I'm on the 30mbps line, the WiFi speed easily reach 31~32mbps, then they free upgraded, the speed its like 20~50 mbps jumping unstable
then now come the 100mbps, can get from 20~60mbps on WiFi sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

QUOTE(soonwai @ Apr 4 2018, 08:11 PM)
I'm an optimist so I think your router is good. Maybe a configuration problem on your end?
*
Sadly it wasn't. TM come and check and find its the router not able to broadcast WiFI signal up to 100mbps , if used lan it might go more than 60mbps ....

They will give you the TP-Link C1200, which is absolute crap. Get your own third party router. I recommend the TP-Link Archer C7 v4 as a minimum, followed by the Asus RT-AC1300UHP if you have the money.
*
Thank for the recommendation, surely will check it out thumbup.gif

Do some googling before you ask
AC68U is released in 2013 & AC87U is released in 2014, how are they going to reach 10 years if it's only released 4 ~ 5 years ago? doh.gif

Yr router is likely old gen, cant do more.

U need a gigabit router plus dual band devices running on 5ghz to get full 100mbps wifi.

Tm shud hv given u the tplink... can try it first.... some users are ok with it, others totally upset.

Yes, consider the suggested routers, they work well.

ah... can't remember the details...

but think yes... the new 50->100 upgrades do not come with new 2 yr contract.
so, that also mean no new router, no +1 yr warranty for unifitv box and dect phone as well.
previous uprgades came with new contract and +1 yr warranties.

if u really do not want new contract, guess u just have to buy a new router - to get full 100mbps wifi.

Went TMpoint this morning, try my luck for the RM10 upgrade since livechat told me promotion ended on 31 March, who knows CS say still available and filled the form and thumbprint.
Got SMS while on the way home (around 10 minutes later), ask for restart modem.

Reach home restart modem and check online, plan upgraded. rclxm9.gif

Previous on 30mbps with Ruby pack for RM179 per month, still on one and half year contract.
Now RM189 50mbps + STD20 + Jumbo pack, contract start again from two years.
