"Upgraded" my plan to 100mbps , package price 199 but the issue is the router do not support 100mbps and the most i could get out of the router is 60mbps

complaint to TM live chat as I have been ensured the original router would work just fine before the upgrade and now they gave me 2 choice, live with it or renew 2 year contract and get a TP Link (unknown model )

anyway to ask TM replace the router without signing another 2 year contract

in a way, u can consider yrself "lucky".
some r paying rm329 for 100mbps; some never get call; some call them but get rejected...
tm unifi work in strange ways - u never know if u will get a call again, what happens later... cheaper or not..?
but... 100mbsps is fabulous... if u need it.
no, not yr bad.
there are some rm169 + jumbo + ruby... no idea if small minority or a lot.
not me! laugh.gif
u gotta tell what router u have now... if not how people know it can do the job or not in order to comment?!! rolleyes.gif

opps , my bad, its a RG maritime, when I'm on the 30mbps line, the WiFi speed easily reach 31~32mbps, then they free upgraded, the speed its like 20~50 mbps jumping unstable
then now come the 100mbps, can get from 20~60mbps on WiFi sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

I'm an optimist so I think your router is good. Maybe a configuration problem on your end?
*
Sadly it wasn't. TM come and check and find its the router not able to broadcast WiFI signal up to 100mbps , if used lan it might go more than 60mbps ....

They will give you the TP-Link C1200, which is absolute crap. Get your own third party router. I recommend the TP-Link Archer C7 v4 as a minimum, followed by the Asus RT-AC1300UHP if you have the money.

Thank for the recommendation, surely will check it out thumbup.gif

Yr router is likely old gen, cant do more.

U need a gigabit router plus dual band devices running on 5ghz to get full 100mbps wifi.

Tm shud hv given u the tplink... can try it first.... some users are ok with it, others totally upset.

Yes, consider the suggested routers, they work well.

They refuse to give me a new router unless i sign another two year with them doh.gif

i google the router and found out the review on it is very bad and some even as soon as 2 month have to reboot it daily to get it working doh.gif

ah... can't remember the details...

but think yes... the new 50->100 upgrades do not come with new 2 yr contract.
so, that also mean no new router, no +1 yr warranty for unifitv box and dect phone as well.
previous uprgades came with new contract and +1 yr warranties.

if u really do not want new contract, guess u just have to buy a new router - to get full 100mbps wifi.

Yup, mine didnt come with contract but do have extended 1 year warranty for the router and stuff
