Well, I think it's not necessary. I have both wallets in my phone.

Backup your phone chat, uninstall, migrate/restore chats, then try your wallets.

I have basically scratched everywhere inside the Wallet tab looking for the stupid "Switch Wallet Region" or "Switch Region" option/menu!

You're not alone. I see a number of comments in their FB complaining the same.

If it's there, you'll see it!
If it's NOT there, you won't see it at all!

WeChat has to fix this via a patch to allow users to transfer/switch region seamlessly!

Try go Me > Setting > Account Security and check is that your account linked with Malaysia numbers?

Otherwise, go below select Switch Account and try MYR wallet will pop up or not.

Anyway, seems like it's a better idea to lower down our expectation on how well this will MY version will work out. I guess a lot of us have our hopes up since we've been reading way too many success stories coming from China & subconsciously expected the same level of seamless transition here.

hmm, then I'm really out of ideas...
Im in my uncle ceremony, helped my families, relatives and friends managed grabbed angpao, even mostly of my FB friends also got them excepted 1 and those rooted/jailbreak.

Chill Bro. I feel your frustration as you are not able to get the wallet working after a whole day of tinkering. He on the other hand is rejoicing because he managed to collect ang pao's for 4 different wallets.

I hope that the knowledge of solving my case can be shared to others in here who also faced similar situation as mine.
I don't think that I'm the only one encountering it; several forumers faced the same thing.

I gotta admit I had high expectations on Wechat Pay here, but not anymore thanks to their long delay before and the current situation. But I can say that it's not gonna do well here for the time being, not sure about after few years though. Wechat Pay in China is successful because everything is unified there in terms of the services that Wechat provides, and also the fact that literally everyone there uses Wechat.

Unlike here, bunch of useless e wallets flooding the market.

Just hope for the best on Wechat Pay and Boost to be our daily app in the future, even though the experience of using e wallet here isn't good, but I still enjoy using it.

well, it remains to be seen how wechat pay can be different from boost. if mostly the same, then boost has wider coverage.
