Since there is no way I can get a Wechat China wallet, can we use Alipay instead as a tourist to China?

Ask someone who has China wallet send you RMB 1 angpow, once your ID is verified, you should be able to get China wallet. that's how I got the China wallet.

i read that a lot of us cannot activate China wallet because no bank account in China. I also dont have China account but somehow my China wallet still works, dont know is it because I activated my China wallet few years earlier. Anyway, I heard that now foreign travellers are very diffiucult to open bank account in China using travellers visa. Anyone of you succeed in opening one recently? In addition, I am also wondering if we really manage to open bank account in China, is there any annual fee? (a bit off topic I know, heheh)

You will need a China mobile number also, beside China bank account. So 2 hurdles.

Tried that. It wouldn't accept any of my credit cards saying those are all not supported for verification.

Any China friend's phone number? Shouldn't that mobile number be the one registered with the China bank?

Just ask the friend to buy you a new no. I used to have one number too and my friend forgot to pay for my monthly access fees, eventually got terminated. : Then I noticed only certain big telco flagship shops in bigger cities will entertain foreigners application, other places won't accept.

Luckily I activated my wallet years ago, no need all these. Didn't know it is so difficult these days.

You can buy them in airport. I bought my Chinese prepaid SIM card in airport with passport, ask for the counter. There's no expiry date, just top up when needed. Can be used in China except HK/Macao. Once you exit the airport only locals can buy with their Chinese IC, and limited to 5 numbers per IC.

No expire date? Does that means you can use it for entire year without needing to Top Up? What brand is that?

Not really, foreigners still can get SIM card outside airport in China, as long as you provide passport.

Anyway, to get China wallet, besides mobile number, China bank account is also required, and it is not possible to open China bank account if you use tourism visa.

I finally have the "Wallet" option available lol. Then I read the FAQ for withdrawal, it says RM4,500.00 daily and RM10,000.00 limit per month.

What I find funny is that at the bottom of the FAQ, it says "if you're using an Android phone, daily withdrawal limit is RM1,000.00". Like why? LOL. Android user like me = poor fag? Lol.

Just so we are clear, the wallet you mentioned above that managed to add Ambank and RHB debit cards is Malaysia wallet or China wallet?
