I can use my China wallet without China phone no. and China bank account, I just need my China friends to transfer angpau to me. Been using since 2014 though got it in 2013.

if you activate the China Wallet for your Malaysia mobile prior the Malaysia Wallet then you will have the option to choose. If not you will only see Malaysia wallet.

So far I manage to add BigPay credit card to the China Wallet but not sure can use to top up or not.

I think starting early this year, to activate china wallet u need china bank card. Before this, anyone can get this feature

Sorry...Malaysia Wallet already confirmed cannot link with BigPay. Only Debit card from local bank are allowed.

BigPay can only link to China wallet as international credit card.

I can link my Malaysia CC to China wallet but serves no purpose, cannot use in China. Only China cards linked or angpau in RMB can be used in China.

Hmm. Only if it's AliPay China account I guess. I didn't have the chance to use earlier as I cannot verify account but I have "semi-verified" my account without China card. Earlier I can't receive from and transfer fund to AliPay users. Now I can receive and transfer fund to my China AliPay friends. I haven't gone to China again this year which I usually do annually due to my different business travel schedule.

i read that a lot of us cannot activate China wallet because no bank account in China. I also dont have China account but somehow my China wallet still works, dont know is it because I activated my China wallet few years earlier. Anyway, I heard that now foreign travellers are very diffiucult to open bank account in China using travellers visa. Anyone of you succeed in opening one recently? In addition, I am also wondering if we really manage to open bank account in China, is there any annual fee? (a bit off topic I know, heheh)

Ask someone who has China wallet send you RMB 1 angpow, once your ID is verified, you should be able to get China wallet. that's how I got the China wallet.

You can buy them in airport. I bought my Chinese prepaid SIM card in airport with passport, ask for the counter. There's no expiry date, just top up when needed. Can be used in China except HK/Macao. Once you exit the airport only locals can buy with their Chinese IC, and limited to 5 numbers per IC.

Not really, foreigners still can get SIM card outside airport in China, as long as you provide passport.

Anyway, to get China wallet, besides mobile number, China bank account is also required, and it is not possible to open China bank account if you use tourism visa.

of course, last time when I bought the China Mobile SIM, it has 1 year validity, as long as you top up, you can keep the number active.

According to my best friend in China, she said cannot. Need to link to a card, either ATM card, debit card or credit card.
ATM and debit card can transfer money and give angpau but credit card cannot.
Credit card can only be used for expenses.
