Apparently, Wechat Pay MY isn't giving up, more features coming soon too! biggrin.gif

Do note that only CC is supported for the time being, DC still doesn't work, but the app shows that my BigPay card can be used too.

cashback is no doubt good for users, but not every company can afford that in long term. i think wechat pay is having limited funds in terms of promotion.

anyway, what's disappointing is, wechat pay has its own strengths which are not fully utilised, such as making known to users its ability to receive money without needing to add user (this may be appealing to small merchants perhaps?), shake function, increasing its visibility through its official account (look at how many 'views' it obtained when announcing promotion in its official account), enabling using credit card to pay for postpaid. besides, their customer service in Facebook is so secretive, everytime users have querries, their standard answer is "please check your inbox". Don't they realise one user's doubt can be the other users doubt too?

i don't know how's the merchants adoption rate of wechat pay in peninsular and Sabah but in Sarawak here, it's pathetic. within 10 merchants, countable ones, seriously - KK mart, Starbucks, llaollao, hari-hari, boulevard, miniso. i mean, as a wechat user myself and a bit selfish-speaking, it would be nice to see if wechat pay can be widely accepted, but somehow, its marketing team is not doing a good job at all. while other e-wallets are actively looking for merchants, what is wechat pay doing - please correct me if i am wrong. or maybe its success in China has brought me too much expectation.

losing games compare to other ewallet. Other wallet provide coin, cashback, point & redemption. Still thinking what benefit does wechat provide when use them.

It seems that we can link BP into WeChat Pay and use it in China.

Who's this "author"? Until this is proven, I don't take it that it will work in China.

"Author" = WeChat Malaysia

I captured the 3rd picture from my BigPay app. I have added my BP card into my China WeChat Pay.

From day 1, 6 years ago I can already add Malaysia CC into China wallet too but not able to pay with it whenever I am in China. Only normal credit balance works and all payments will be deducted from my balance, even I tried with empty balance, it just didn't work. I will try in my next visit to China.

Good news! I just tried and it worked. Used wechat pay to pay for didi ride and chose to use BigPay to pay instead of balance in China wallet.

Awesome news! Finally!
Can pay directly to the merchants now, but some shops use personal accounts, so cannot use this method.

oh... so if the China merchants use personal account, cannot accept ah. but good enough already. i just hope that one day can use our credit card to transfer money to Chinese friends that will be very awesome!

and just yesterday Wechat Pay MY officially announced that we can link our Malaysian wallet with credit card. I tried linking with my bigpay, can link also, like xperiaDROID shared few days ago. I am not sure, but if link with cash rebate credit card, meaning that everytime pay using wechat pay MY then I will get cash rebate by credit card too? if that's the case, then it is very good news. rclxms.gif

Even China people cannot use CC to transfer money to another person, so I doubt that's gonna work for us.
