WeChat still cannot. AliPay limited at 2k. Ended up using* both that and cash.

Honestly I think 2k is good enough, better than not being able to use. For high value item I believe most likely able to use our CC or worst just pay with cash lor.
I hate China is when those streets or small value spending need to dig cash and coins, so with this 2k I supposed it can cover lots of spending already.

Can't wait to visit China and try out

For Malaysia wechat account, can i use China local bank credit card to top up and spend in China?

Couldn't spend more than 2k in a single transaction. Used credit card instead.

Only used Alipay for small transactions such as street f&b and subway ticket. Didn't try to top up again after that.

Can. But if you're not the owner of the card, it would be troublesome when it asks for your mobile no. or facial verification when you try to spend more than 1.5k in a single day.

Yes. Owner for both wechat account and china credit card.

Then shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure you switch WeChat pay region to China Mainland when adding the card.

I press Balance > Top Up > Key in the amount > press Next > Key in my debit card information & tick the box for agree the terms > press Next > Master card processing that link with my bank > Paymen pin failure

Use "Bank Cards" -> "Add a Bank Card".

can, provided that you have a bank account opened in mainland China to link it to your China wallet.
Recently it has been officially announced that foreigners can link overseas credit card to their China wallet even without opening bank account in mainland China, but still waiting for further clarification from Tencent. When that happens, hopefully can pay using China wallet just like the locals when visiting China.

Anyway, I dont think Wechat Pay Malaysia team is doing a good job, regardless in utilising their own official account, FB account, announcement or promotion. Very passive and disappointing. Perhaps their marketing strategy is different from other e-wallets.

Apparently, Wechat Pay MY isn't giving up, more features coming soon too!

Do note that only CC is supported for the time being, DC still doesn't work, but the app shows that my BigPay card can be used too.
