Wechat ringgit wallet will be available in June. I wonder which local bank card can be used.

OK, doesn't help though. I will contact the official account then.
laugh.gif Me too since 2014, the adoption rate is still low here. I only enjoy it whenever I'm in China.

How do you top up your RMB wallet? Don't you require a China bank card for that?

I think that the issue of whether wallet is shown or not is account related and not app or phone related. I managed to get the wallet activated by logging out and logging back in. My friend tried many times and it's still not showing. Updating wechat to version 6.6.7 doesn't give any difference. Then I tried to log in my account on my friend's phone, and I could see the wallet. So I guess it is not the problem of the app but the account.

My best friend is in Beijing, she will top up for me whenever I need money. Else, these days I will ask favour from my China colleagues who are working in Malaysia to reload for me while I pay them back in MYR to their local Malaysia bank account. Just a favour, I don't ask often though. smile.gif

China used to allow tourists to open a bank account in China but these days no longer allows.. Checked in my last few trips. sad.gif

My friend did the same too, asking friend in China to help top up. I was hoping that there is other way. Hopefully soon we can do a conversion from MYR wallet to RMB wallet. 🤞

They only know how to flood the market with their app instead of improving it. Take a look at China, they only have 2 major e wallet apps and people there use it everyday, and it's supported like everywhere.

I hope Wechat can change it, since they have the experience and the budget.

You are right. In China, even the street performers have 2 QR code printed out for audience to pay them instead of a milo tin. biggrin.gif

We know that mainland chinese are able to pay with their China wallet in Malaysia. Will malaysian be able to pay with Malaysia wallet in China?
*
Wechat pay is not available here. China tourists can use only Alipay here in Malaysia. I have not seen any wechat pay here, have you?

If not yet, it will be soon. Check out the article below. That is why I was wondering if Malaysian tourist in China would be able to do the same.

In the article, they mentioned that they can make purchases in Malaysia in Yuan. Doesn't this mean that they can just use their rmb wallet to pay? It's good for the merchants in Malaysia to accept wechat or alipay as there are many China tourists here.

I think Razor Pay can easily overtake WeChat Pay with their partnership with 7-11
*
But topping up is leceh. Cannot use credit card or debit card to top up. It's either buy top up from 7-11 or top up via online banking.

It's not the matter of rush or not rush.
2 months ago, it's limitedly available.
Now official launch, the issue isn't resolved!
If you're not ready, you shouldn't release the product. Ended up like BP.

Just to throw out an idea about what could possibly be the reason of you not being able to get MY wallet. It is stated that Wechat pay MY is for WeChat Malaysia users only. Is there by any chance that your account has been treated as China account?

How to differentiate if an account is China based or not?
Because I accepted ang pau in RMB?
*
What if you try the same way like how you activated RMB wallet? Get a friend with MY wallet to send you money packet. Will that work?

If your friend sends you RM red packet and you can't open, then we can probably assume that your wechat account is not in Malaysia region.

If (1) is true also.
What we/I want is a resolution not just the root cause.
Any possibility of change back the account to Malaysia region?

How can an account is registered to other region when the phone number used in new user registration is a Malaysian phone number?
For a non-Chinese educated user like me, language is set to English and Country/Region is set to somewhere in Malaysia.
*
So what happened actually when you scan the QR code to redeem the free angpow?

Touch n go e-wallet is based on the alipay payment system. TNG Digital is a joint-venture concern with Alibaba Group affiliate Ant Financial Group.

Didn't want to download tng wallet previously but did it recently because of the RFID. Already registered to be a pilot user. It's supposed to start in Sep. RFID will be fully introduced starting next year.

RFID pilot is free passing tolls or need use our own credits?
*
Yes, be the pilot user and the installation of the sticker is waived. Not sure how much they will charge later. Top up using tng wallet app and then can pass toll using RFID lane.
