How do you top up your RMB wallet? Don't you require a China bank card for that?

I think that the issue of whether wallet is shown or not is account related and not app or phone related. I managed to get the wallet activated by logging out and logging back in. My friend tried many times and it's still not showing. Updating wechat to version 6.6.7 doesn't give any difference. Then I tried to log in my account on my friend's phone, and I could see the wallet. So I guess it is not the problem of the app but the account.

My best friend is in Beijing, she will top up for me whenever I need money. Else, these days I will ask favour from my China colleagues who are working in Malaysia to reload for me while I pay them back in MYR to their local Malaysia bank account. Just a favour, I don't ask often though.

China used to allow tourists to open a bank account in China but these days no longer allows.. Checked in my last few trips.

My friend did the same too, asking friend in China to help top up. I was hoping that there is other way. Hopefully soon we can do a conversion from MYR wallet to RMB wallet. 🤞

Unlikely. China wallets are very independent based. Same goes to AliPay, it's only for them while the rest of the population in the world uses international version.
Theirs are forever flexible and can be used anywhere.

You need a China bank card to activate RMB wallet.

Actually this regulation only started few months ago, my friend still can get RMB wallet when he registered last year, using local credit card.

Top up still has to rely on others to transfer money in, since local cc cant be used for payment.

As above. It seems now no longer able to do it but if can add since last time then it can continue adding. It serves no purpose because we can't use it to do anything.
