Saw a 5070 going for 2.5k. Just pulled the trigger. Although this is probably the most bashed 70 series GPU, it's still an upgrade over my 3070
That's actually not a bad price though NVIDIA GeForce Community V19, RTX 5000 unveiled

QUOTE(ctw88 @ May 17 2025, 06:27 PM) Prices are coming back to sane levels and that 5060TI is at Nvidia MSRP. This is what activism does when people are fedup with high prices, dont support scalpy prices and just wait. Some people just want to be waterfishes. |

No idea man. i find it quite funny that brightstar had a sales event at lowyat selling 5070 for 2699, but in shopee can get for 2.5k.I checked today the prices are at high 2.6k to 2.7k, which is still fair i guess? 5060ti 16gb are back to 2.1k-2.2k |

QUOTE(lolzcalvin @ May 16 2025, 08:09 PM) smart move Thanks for the tips, will look into it.to reduce SignalRGB CPU usage, can even navigate into AppData\Local\VortxEngine\app-<version>\Signal-x64\Plugins and delete all plugins except the ones that ur using. i'm only using asus plugin to control RAM and mobo RGB so in there I only have asus folder and nothing else doing so will let SignalRGB to hover 1.5-2.5% CPU usage only |

QUOTE(chocobo7779 @ May 18 2025, 08:45 AM) Yeah, that's actually a good price though probably theyre dumping 5070 now. maybe next couple months they will start dumping higher end models.Although I find it strange there is a huge price gap between the 5070 and the 5070 Ti you can see so many of the 5080s and 5090s just sitting on their shelves |

QUOTE(chocobo7779 @ May 18 2025, 09:57 AM) Rumors are circulating that the RTX 5090D has been banned in China due to violations of US export control regulations. In response, Nvidia is reportedly preparing to release a further cutdown version of the RTX 5090, which is expected to feature 24GB of VRAM only. Second news spread is saying Nvidia is planning to launch RTX 5080 Super or Ti variant with 24GB of VRAM by the end of the year. |

QUOTE(chocobo7779 @ May 17 2025, 11:14 PM) Naw. Our market is impervious to reviews or user feedback. Ie Radeons have been pisspoor perf vs Geforces which is why globally each is priced one tier below equivalent Nvidias but here their the same tier pricing making Radeons a poor value choice moreso when inc its dismal RT perf, which is why they only have <10% local marketshare. The 9000series closes the perf gap but still is priced way too high vs Geforce MSRP. |

No, but you will end up making lots of concessions in terms of visuals because of the limited VRAM - even one of your screenshots already proved that, with future titles may make things even worse Here is HUB trying their hardest to fail the card ![]() If your gonna fail a student, the student will fail no matter what. Cant seem to get an FPS counter to show but I dont feel lag Seriously, 8GB VRAM doesn't really belong to any modern GPUs these days outside of being an eSports card, and even if they do they'll have to priced and name them correctly which both AMD and Nvidia failed There's also the pricing problem too - at USD379 for the 8GB model it's just plain awful, especially it's effectively a 50 series card being marketed as a 60 card (see Gamers Nexus on GPU shrinkflation) This post has been edited by chocobo7779: May 18 2025, 07:13 PM |

Did you even look at current GPU prices? The 5070 Ti costs basically RM1.5K+ over the 9070 XT right now, with the 9070 XT performing quite close to it outside of RT The 9000series closes the perf gap but still is priced way too high vs Geforce MSRP. The 5070 is certainly better of course, but do you want to pay RM2.5K for effectively a 4070 Super with the potential problems of running out of VRAM for future games?
