Thats the defeatist attitude which allows Nvidia & AMD to shove their overprices every gen down our throats. In a free market, competition will naturally force prices to come down and indeed global DDR5 prices are largely dropping as everyday theres a better/cheaper kit that comes out. DDR5 6000 maybe the sweetspot for AM5 but for Intel, it likes much higher RAM speed thus why we have CUDIMM tech and like it or not, Intel still sells more PC than AMD.
Here due to distros all cartel pakat pakat to fix prices and lately scalping GPU pricing too, is something we must sound out and not support.
Sure theres the China express option if you dont care warranty but then these local jokers shouldnt be complaining about losing business to online and forcing Govt to impose online tax just so they can justify their overprices and tongkat attitude. There are local online options which often have bang for buck deals but having to be handicapped by these local jokers.
We shouldnt normalise ourselves to artificial inflation, its why i told others dont buy overpriced GPU which also need to bundle. Dont let them take advantage and wait for hardware prices to normalise and indeed its getting nearly there now if only people have patience to wait.
As you mentioned, the issue largely stems from local distributors and sellers who collectively refuse to lower their prices. Hence, I’m proposing an alternative to consider sourcing from overseas, especially if you feel that supporting local sellers no longer makes sense.
We live in a world of free trade and computer parts are not controlled or essential goods. Those with the means can afford premium prices, while others have the freedom to seek better value elsewhere.
So rather than repeatedly expressing frustration in this forum, it may be more productive to explore these alternatives.
