Let me tell you this, MOST of IMU student dont want lectures to be more than 2 hours a day... Reasons, I dont know, maybe they missed their family that much???

I have a pharmacology lecturer who is very dedicated to his job... Knowing that he may not be able to finish his lectures in time, he asked us wether to find another time slot for extra lecture... Guess what, more than half of the class dont want it... In the end, he has to rush the lecture... Then he asked us again, do we want an Q&A session for the extra time slot since we booked the lecture hall... Again, Majority dont want it... Some of them even curses that he dont know how to manage his time!!!!!

Its the mentality of the students, they think they are smarter than the lecturer... In the end who looses, us. Since I'm here, I can tell you that even those who studied form 6 also rejects the class... Form 6 makes one more mature, I doubt it... This is sad case for M'sia student...

If I were the lecturer, I'll just go through the lecture quickly in 1 hour and on my final slide, I'll put up a note saying Read Rang and Dale Chapter X.

For the exam, I'll make them do a whole mechanism of something I only mentioned once in the lecture.
And for MCQs, its gonna be a whole lot of tiny tiny detailed questions.

Your score doesnt mean anything, you still may not qualify if you were to compete fairly with your peers in Malaysia; and selection in IMU is not considered competitive compared to UK or Aus if you were a local student there. Dont brag with your 4 As.
*
compete fairly? wait i thought that was supposed to be an international exam?? the A-levels i mean. besides...bummer i competed with my malaysian peers and i was QUALIFIED enough as to be offered a place. that's yet another proof i 'didn't go through all the trouble to go to imu' because i got money on me. no it's because i got those grades, which i worked my head off for inorder to get. so i owe you an apology had uwrongfully understood me as to brag about my A-levels because i simply don't.now that i am a med-student i can most definitely tell you that yes i donot have nothing to brag about NOW that i got accepted along with the current batch. we're all on the same grounds and who knows maybe my grades would come plummeting down once the semester starts?? bragging was definitely not my intention. i used my grades as to prove that the selection process is indeed based on merit. don't tell me they'll accept a student willing to pay, but got trashy grades. ofcourse that sounds absurd because i strongly believe that all those who were accepted for this comin intake are indeed QUALIFIED enough.

and i have already been to cairo's medical school, studied there ...and withdrew in the middle of the semester. you have to understand that the lecturers speak in arabic the entire time, even the complex biological phrases are still in arabic because less than 5% of those admitted into medical schools are from foreign schools. lucky malaysians get to go into english-only classes where the size of the class is approximately 50(max) compared to the usual egyptian batch, they got creme de la creme professors....so yes they were pretty much envied by everyone tongue.gif couldn't change to their classes cuz i had a big fat stamp on my passport saying EGYPTIAN:D
only one private med-uni in egypt, with a notorious reputation for graduating useless doctors..... so i got myself between a rock and a hard place. my family, friends and LIFE exist on another continent. so think again before making any rash judgements..

that was an amalgamation of answers from previous remarks. and i would pretty much appreciate if you don't put my case under the microscope start to cross examine my situation n all:P
peace out:D

Herballife : I think we have both got each other wrong. What I meant was in UK, Malaysia and Aus if we were local students there. For example, in UK 3 or 4As is a prerequisite for people to enter med school (unless you did exceptionally well that they offer you ABB but it's quite impossible in oxbridge). And in Aus, most locals below 98% couldnt get into med school either. And as for me, if I wasnt able to pay for my med school, I dont think i could join med school either.

Sorry about that. And congrats for getting into a local med school =D

Haha nice word frenemies tongue.gif Anyway, in UK is possible to get into with ABB but it still depend on number of applicant on waiting list. Kinda piss when I found out A- in STPM is not A as in A-level.

Really regret taking STPM when I sure I could get better if I take the A-level.

hi.

just wondering, for summative 1, i heard there are no anatomy questions, is this right?
there will be bs and stats questions, yeah?

and reading lecture notes only.. is it enough to get A, or only enough for a pass? (for summative 1 at least) getting conflicting info about this...

melb has been removed from the undergraduate list of pms from next year..........but has not been placed in the graduate entry list (currently uq, anu and warwick)...........it is uncertain whether melb will continue to be a pms........
