QUOTE(Syd G @ Jul 3 2008, 08:15 AM) @robertngo Hahahaahah . Here's another way to do it. Get a masters degree (average 140k 'investment' - tuition fees and living expenses), work there for 2 years under Tier 1 - Post-Study Work (no income requirement). After two years of earning in £, you can apply to transfer to General Highly Skilled Migrant class. It will be so much easier for you to meet the income requirement compared to when you're applying in Malaysia. Am doin it next year Added on July 3, 2008, 8:16 amBtw, MBA requirement in HSMP is not valid anymore since HSMP is dead and gone now. Try the new calculator : http://workpermit.com/uk/uk-immigration-ti...-calculator.htmand the post-study work calculator http://workpermit.com/uk/uk-immigration-ti...-study-work.htmif i got 140k not need to worry already lah, i can got study in MIT or UCLA like i always dream of, but sad reality of life. can do a distance learning at Sunway college for Manchester Business School MBA, but the two course offer does not interest me http://www.sunway.edu.my/index.php?option=...lang=iso-8859-1This post has been edited by robertngo: Jul 3 2008, 08:22 AM

Good luck . It says there yearly income. If you can get proof income from doing freelancing etc and declare it in your income tax form, I think you should have no problem getting it

And I think you need at least 6 months 7k salary slip or 1 year I am not sure, by that time you may not qualify for the age points. More or less the same.

I thought people were moving out of the UK since it's too expensive there?

I thought people were moving out of the UK since it's too expensive there? well after thinking about it, my job in UK will get like 45-55k pound annual salary, dont think worth it to go there, if i can really life very frugal and save 1 - 2k per month maybe ok but also likely to not able to save much because of the cost of living and available entertainment. maybe later when i have more experience and get job as consultant making 80-100k pound them it will be worth the risk and expenses to go there,

If it matters, I prefer the kids to be speaking with the UK accent than the US one I came back to Malaysia because of a death in the family, have to respect the elders now right But I'm a bit concerned about the economy in the US so I'm no hurry to go back to the US. The UK doesn't seem particularly interesting either unless like robertngo said I can get a 100k GBP/year job. Speaking with a UK accent is cool, unless you're an American citizen. So where are we sending the kids to school again to pick up this british accent?
