Is it possible to change region with my existing ID? Want to access JP marketplace

never try ... so i can't confirm. But if i'm not mistaken, i read from this forum, somebody create id with different region just for download. After downloaded to hdd, it can be access using other id eventhough the id is in different region. But, as i said, i'm not sure cos never try, better u do a search in this forum.

I don't have any Asia Points.. Bought Japanese points from my friend in Japan, hope I can use them

oh ... lucky u got friend in Japan. Mine is SG acc ... i ordered from play-asia, shipped on 8 June with free shipping but haven't receive it yet ... haih ... so trying to look for other source.

Can we use US points? I think Amazon gives a direct code instead of stupidly shipping the card to your house.

Well, my gamertag was originally registered in the UK but when i came back my 360 was stolen. So it was a few years before i got my replacement. I stupidly bought some Asian xbl points from gamers hideout (my fault for not checking) thinking the points were multi region only to realise i couldn't get it to work.

My solution was to register my girlfriend to an asian gamertag to use up the points. Alternatively, I'm now using EU points purchased from the offgamers website. I think their prices change from time to time currently RM215 for 4200 points and RM 107 for 2100 points (EU) which i believe its cheaper than the play-asia option. They also carry US points at a similar price. The best part is once your CC has been verified you get it in a few hours. Their support is pretty good as well.

u mean ur gf use her asian gamertag n u use UK gamertag on the same console ? If ur gf buy theme, DLC, add-on ...etc using her asian gamertag, when u sign in using ur UK gamertag, can u access n use those things ?

- Bound to your Xbox Live account. Need to log in to use content.
- Bound to your machine/HDD (?) on which you made the purchase on. Any GT can use it, but it's specific to that HDD.

yeah ... that's what i read. Other machine, need to login with Xbox live acc that downloaded it, on the machine downloaded it, all GT can use. Thanks for confirming this. This is the confirmation gundamalpha want also.

i asked them about it, they said

"It seems your account has been limited by Microsoft because of the Xbox Live Maintenance on last Tuesday, June 16th, 2009.
And you can't use US code in your specific gamertag."

i'm using SG acct and have use maximus from more than a year, btw my xbox 1rod before, havent play for 3-4 mths.

is there any restriction on live gold now? i mean it did not work worldwide anymore?

Live gold is not region locked.

The codes are region locked.

You should be allowed to use the codes if you create a US gamertag.

i even use sg acct with those codes before, it works perfectly. anyway, i found the info in xbox site

Reason: A temporary error has occurred during redemption. Please try to redeem the token again later.


i guess it was temporary, i'll retry again later.

XBox Live Marketplace and Zune Marketplace have been wonky recently, but I think the codes should still work.



Just a quick Q here... does account region matter during matchmaking?

Hi guys, I had juz registered my xbox live recently and set my locale at Australia, as I heard that once registered the locale, you will be forever bound to that locale. <-- First gamer profile

So what I want to ask here is if I register another new xbox live, do I need to create another new gamer profile? <-- Second gamer profile

Cause I don't want to lose all my save data in the 1st gamer profile but want to try on Singapore locale. Will changing the locale in windows live ID (1st gamer profile) and xbox 360 system setting's locale effect them?
Or is it possible to move my 1st profile save game data to 2nd profile in order to continue?
