hey guys..is xbox live still acting up again?
i've never been connected for the past month or so due to no internet. just got my streamyx and when i sign in..sooo slow..then when the update alert came up, couldn't update at all.
At first, during diagnostics at Xbox Live, it asks for an update. when i choose to update, i see the xbox live status in diag goes to connected, and NAT open. but then update failed. it couldn't download and therefore couldn't go into LIVE.
what gives? please help! do i have to go burn the update?
p.s: i'm using shared connection via switch, but connection for my PCs are fine and stable.

^What's your error code? Are you getting status code 0x8016ABA5 ?Xbox Live should be working fine now....Anyway here's the official response from Microsoft : QUOTE Dear Xbox LIVE Members:

PJ: i'm not sure, i'll check it out later.
hmm..the thing is..when i boot up, it takes a loooong time for me to sign in. when i do sign in, of course there's the update alert. but immediately after i choose yes, update now..the error pops up even before it manages to show the update status bar.
should i try a CD update? diagnostics all seem fine..even ICMP passed, but just couldn't get pass LIVE update.

The free Arcade game applies to both Silver and Gold members. Does that mean if my console has 3 user profiles (one for each family member), then I'd get 3 games?  Hope we get to choose the game of our choice .... and let's hope it's not YARIS!!! |

awroightt...finally managed to update! first try..couldn't update. just left it for a while..suddenly asked to update again...then updated normally..and quite fast too.
update: hmmm weird. it was all smooth going, everything was fast and smooth, downloads were steady. but as soon as i rebooted my console...i got problems with xbox live connection. couldn't sign in, and failed at xbox live at diagnostics.
what gives??
okay after scouring the net, i tried to troubleshoot:
first i tried setting manual IP and DNS in my xbox network settings.
i run diagnostics, xbox LIVE was connected, BUT NAT was strict.
when i turn back to auto, diagnostics failed at XBOX LIVE.
i checked the riger modem, and UPnP was enabled.
i tried port forwarding, didn't work...couldn't even get IP address at all.
please help?
update 2: sheesh..still couldn't get NAT to open even if i tried port forwarding..crap.

^Enable DMZ on xb360?? Easiest for open NAT.
If you do however and you are on media center setup, you might need to do some extra configuration otherwise it will interrupt your mediacenter function.

P.S: does disabling UPnP affect normal web browsing on PCs? i don't think so right? but had to ask..n00b. |

Damn.....Ive been waitin so long to get my hands on an xb360 n go LIVE. Plan 2 get one by next week...Hopefully dpt. Sold my ps2 already. My room is alredy in a suitable condition 2 play a 360. Air-conditioned n surrounded by windows so that wont overheat easily... Suddenly, i realise that i dont hav internet connection in my room.  How on EARTH do i go LIVE without internet?? So frustrating...No multiplayer la nmpknye... Anyone can help me with this witout having 2 spend alot of money?? Sory if this is not the right place to post...a bit desperate.  |

ookay....so you don't have internet connection..uh...u go..and..uh...get an internet connection?
you just get a phone, call TMNet, ask about Streamyx and ask about how to apply and fix it. If you have a phone line, it should be no problem (if you actually called TMNet from your house phone in the first place, then not knowing if you have a phone line or not is just plain amazing)
Then when your service is activated, take the phone cable, connect to your modem, and from your modem connect the LAN cable to your X360. Voila! Xbox LIVE!
Oh you also have to actually pay Streamyx for their services, in case you forget. It's on a monthly basis.

Guys, i'm facing some funny stuff while subscribing Gold member for my friend at xboxlive. After everything filled up (including c.card #) and click Continue. "Invalid C.card #" was shown, you know those red Remark under the field box... so i continue for few times and still the same result then my bank called and ask is there 3 transaction been made from this site?.... OMG, the amount actually go thru but the page shown Invalid C.card# and not even in successful page yet! I thought SD160x3=480++ Shit!!!!!!! After i check with the bank and the amount per transaction actually only USD1.... Phew... Really Fu latt.
Is it something wrong with the site or what, Any idea?

What they suggest is to deal with the place i purchased. Btw, still no news about this issue on net, thts why i'm here. The worst thing is my friend also tried his card for few time and same thing happen... scared the hell of us. The total lost was around RM15. Same thing happens to me last time on xbox 1, what i did is tell them to authorize whatever transaction going on with Microsoft in the future and stop calling me....
After that, it works.
