man..it really sucks that they're now even blocking DEMOS from us. i used to think that they would only do that to video marketplace content only.

sorry, but isn't there an option when you subscribe to gold to set it as auto renewal or manual renewal? IINM i saw it once when wanting to subscribe...correct me if I'm wrong. dunno if you can edit the option after being subscribed under auto renewal though.

w00t TimeShift demo ROCKS!
It's kinda cool, although it's really just your basic FPS with some extra time controls put in. However, the time controls are the selling thing for this game. Stop time, and grab your enemy's weapon? how cool is that? Rewind time, but only affecting the things around you while you still move forward! Oh, and i LOVE the way they end the demo! very very cool! |

hey guys..is xbox live still acting up again?
i've never been connected for the past month or so due to no internet. just got my streamyx and when i sign in..sooo slow..then when the update alert came up, couldn't update at all. At first, during diagnostics at Xbox Live, it asks for an update. when i choose to update, i see the xbox live status in diag goes to connected, and NAT open. but then update failed. it couldn't download and therefore couldn't go into LIVE. what gives? please help! do i have to go burn the update? p.s: i'm using shared connection via switch, but connection for my PCs are fine and stable. PJ: i'm not sure, i'll check it out later.
hmm..the thing is..when i boot up, it takes a loooong time for me to sign in. when i do sign in, of course there's the update alert. but immediately after i choose yes, update now..the error pops up even before it manages to show the update status bar. should i try a CD update? diagnostics all seem fine..even ICMP passed, but just couldn't get pass LIVE update. |

awroightt...finally managed to update! first try..couldn't update. just left it for a while..suddenly asked to update again...then updated normally..and quite fast too.
update: hmmm weird. it was all smooth going, everything was fast and smooth, downloads were steady. but as soon as i rebooted my console...i got problems with xbox live connection. couldn't sign in, and failed at xbox live at diagnostics. what gives?? okay after scouring the net, i tried to troubleshoot: first i tried setting manual IP and DNS in my xbox network settings. i run diagnostics, xbox LIVE was connected, BUT NAT was strict. when i turn back to auto, diagnostics failed at XBOX LIVE. i checked the riger modem, and UPnP was enabled. i tried port forwarding, didn't work...couldn't even get IP address at all. please help? update 2: sheesh..still couldn't get NAT to open even if i tried port forwarding..crap. QUOTE(PrivateJohn @ Jan 5 2008, 05:31 AM) ^Enable DMZ on xb360?? Easiest for open NAT. yea saw that tip...the thing is..this riger modem doesn't have DMZ option. i mean it's listed under features..but at the config..couldn't seem to find the DMZ option. If you do however and you are on media center setup, you might need to do some extra configuration otherwise it will interrupt your mediacenter function. i read that u can't enable UPnP and do port forwarding at the same time...i'm using both at the same time now...so i'll try to disable UPnP and see if PF works. P.S: does disabling UPnP affect normal web browsing on PCs? i don't think so right? but had to ask..n00b. |

@ Dutyyers:
ookay....so you don't have internet connection..uh...u go..and..uh...get an internet connection? you just get a phone, call TMNet, ask about Streamyx and ask about how to apply and fix it. If you have a phone line, it should be no problem (if you actually called TMNet from your house phone in the first place, then not knowing if you have a phone line or not is just plain amazing) Then when your service is activated, take the phone cable, connect to your modem, and from your modem connect the LAN cable to your X360. Voila! Xbox LIVE! Oh you also have to actually pay Streamyx for their services, in case you forget. It's on a monthly basis. Hope that helps. |

about the bank thingy...r u using CIMB mastercard? cos if u are, u have to use a virtual CC. can't use the physical card number. i had problems before..but the transaction didn't go thru at all la. but i did get a call from CIMB asking about my transaction, that's where he explained about the virtual CC.
about the LIVE thingy, i had problems if i set automatic settings for my network. couldn't even log in. i set static IP, and set dns...can login fast, download like usual..but my NAT mode strict. tried port forwarding, enabling UPnP, with no success. how eh? |

QUOTE(PrivateJohn @ Jan 13 2008, 12:03 AM) If you can fix it, better do it. It helps make matchmaking faster, no imcompatibility issues when joinining game or voice chat problem (can hear certain people in the party only or maybe none) yea tht's the thing. ok now here's my setup:riger telekom modem, connected to dlink switch. then i have 3 pcs, and my x360 connected to the switch. my pcs surf ok, no problems..so i'm probably guessing it has to do with the routing done by the riger? since one of the troubleshooting says it may be an incompatible router that's causing the strict NAT. i've done port forwarding, enabling/disabling UPnP, and i can't DMZ with riger. so please share any other methods. would it help if i buy a router instead of a switch to be connected to riger? that's the last resort of course...i don't want to be spending on a router...AGAIN. but if need for it arises...*sigh*.. |

guys..i'm having problems with the internet. just want to check if its also happening within the area.
right now, i could only access local sites...lowyat seems to have no problems, but when i go to gamespot, or any other international sites, couldn't access. my LIVE also acting up. when i do a diagnostics on my modem, a riger modem, it fails in telco connectivity, and fails when pinging the primary DNS server, as well as pinging a test website. however, querying DNS works. what gives eh? i'm living in the sunway area. beside taylors PJ. p.s: when doing xbox live diagnostics, it fails at MTU. i checked my router MTU is 1500. what should i do?
