Solution for Astro Go on NSTV:-
1. Install 'LeanKey Keyboard' app from Google Play store >> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...idtv.rukeyboard
2. Go to 'Setting > Keyboard > Current Keyboard' & change the default keyboard to 'LeanKey Keyboard'
3. Download and sideload 'Set Orientation' app to force landscape view on the Astro Go app. After install run the app and choose 'Lanscape' >> https://set-orientation.en.aptoide.com
4. Sideload latest 'Astro Go' >> https://on-the-go.en.aptoide.com
5. To login on Astro Go, need to use 'Chrome' >> https://chrome.en.aptoide.com

* For Android Oreo(SE 7.1) or newer, 'step 1' is not required. Just follow 'step 2' and select 'Gboard' as default keyboard. If u prefer normal keyboard layout, then u can install LeanKey keyboard and set it as default keyboard
* need to use mouse to navigate or use Shield Controller's right stick as mouse. Also can use the SHiELD TV app as virtual mouse on Android/iOS >> http://www.nvidia.com/shield-app
* tested 'Astro Go v8.2.4' on Android TV 7.0 (SE 6.3) and Android TV 8.0 (SE 7.1)
* may work on other Android TV devices which still on Android Nougat or older
* If u have problem with the LeanKey keyboard from Google Play, then download & sideload the latest version from here >> https://github.com/yuliskov/LeanKeyKeyboard/releases

Today cleared kastam at 4am and now shipping status according to tracking email. Should arrive today.

Mine initially supposed to get SIRIM but then DHL officer (her name was mimi) said she will help to appeal first then only let me know if still tak lepas. End up now good already. She said media streaming box usually no need but kastam acting kiasu at times.

So lucky. Usually all wireless devices need SIRIM. But if really need to apply SIRIM, Amazon going to pay since it covers import fees? Or us? Anyone know?

As far as I know we have to cover, or maybe can claim back from them.

My unit still stuck at kastam with no new updates sweat.gif 3 days already. Hopefully it gets through soon.

Have u called DHL customer service? They will give u the contact no of the person handling your case. You apply for appeal if they say need permit. Hopefully all good

For tax usually Amazon will request upfront one. For my case it say didn't have any tax. SIRIM is a diff case tho. We need to pay on top and provide them with slip or receive for DHL to do clearance

Tried. Ping is very high 223ms for me.
There are 5 servers in EU as well. I got connected to EU Central which I suppose is the nearest to Malaysia. Still ping is too high.
I hope they add a SG server to serve Asia Pacific.

Tested out FortNite yesterday. Getting 240ms and recommended setting is 720p due to the delay compensation. Gg Wei haha. Playable game but 720p burns my eyes and occasional graphical defects due to poor streaming from US server.

Read that there's a Asian Pasific server before but it was removed in March to be relocated elsewhere. Need to wait for it to be available again before we could enjoy it.

Overall, it was pretty fun yesterday playing FortNite for the first time. I'm used to PubG but playing a shooter using a controller is really new. Can't wait for the Asian Pasific server to come. Guess when that happens it should be playable smooth at 1080p. For casual gaming, Shield is really a beast.

Thanks for the update. I have previously tried gamestream from PC and not all games work well with a controller but some are totally playable especially RPG type games. Really liked this GFN concept because you can play any game you own on Steam, Origin, etc without having the PC running but unfortunately the absence of an AP server ruined it.

I am not too confident the AP server will be up anytime soon since its been > 3 months offline. They probably moved it to Europe or US since the servers there increased while AP was shut down. I suppose there are too few of us in this region to make it worthwhile for them.

Yeah. Even FortNite shows partial support for controller. Have u tried hooking up keyboard and mouse?

Hopefully when they launch out of beta, the price for GFN won't be skyhigh. And need AP server as well. Saw a lot of complaints on their forums bout it.

Nope, didn't try that. I have a gaming PC so this is just for leisure only not serious gaming.
Yeah, hope they provide a AP server and don't price it too high.

Regret liao. next time using direct shipping cheaper.

Anyway i still got few more things i bought from ebay waiting to arrive at ezipoz, so can consolidate together then only ship to malaysia. I hope it will be cheaper in the end.

As long as the item can be delivered to Malaysia then yes. I did try with Nvidia Shield during the Prime sales, and the cost was only around $20 inclusive of custom tax.
Delivery is also less than a week. Add another $1-2 and you can get it within a few days as well.

Amazon usually far more expensive to ship direct if they charge tax. Else, should be cheaper than 3rd party. For bulking, 3rd party better overall

Depends on which shipping company the forwarder uses, DHL & Fedex 99% of the time you can't escape tax unless you under declare. But overall i still prefer Amazon direct shipping as their shipping price + speed is the best overall so far.
