for the latest baggage policy not exceed 7kg if one luggage and backpack both not exceed more than 7kg can this pass?
*
Shouldn't be a problem as long as the weight is fine. Make sure the size of the bag also pass. I think there's a place to check if you exceed their luggage size. Can ask around.

need to check your COMBINED weight is not > 7kg, even if your hand carry luggage is 5kg, and your backpack is 4kg
then AA will do this to you

100% strictly speaking, cannot pass. The rule is one handcarry and one laptop bag, which must contain a laptop. I've been check on this by other airlines many years ago.
You can bypass this by either:
1) put the backpack into the luggage.
or
2) put the luggage into the backpack.

i.e. become one hand carry only, without laptop bag, since you didn't mention that you are carrying a laptop.

Of course, you can still carry a woman's bag or a waist-pouch or small-flat-bag for your important documents and cash, as long as the size is small. If too big, they can argue that it is another "handcarry", and you have to check in your other handcarry bag.

Should try KLM. Lowest fare offered is RM323 return, all inclusive. No further addon costs.

Checkin online early, and you can pick your seats for free. Light meal on outbound flight. Full meal on inbound flight. Can request for beer and wine. Free on board entertainment. Widebody jet. Have not encountered any serious delays yet, but I am sure their recovery plans will be a lot better than AA. Definitely a better flight experience, for me, compared to AA.

Arrive CGK late evening. If traffic to city is ok, still got time to party.

Do the math before booking. KLM may turn out to be cheaper.

AA still got addon costs.

i know, not included luggage and food
thats why i say focusing on "reaching" there...no food, no luggage laugh.gif
extra RM200 to spend there
but that only applies to short flights like this but always will compare multiple carrier before buying
long flight, i will consider full flight than AA

Ok. No laptop also?

I can manage, if 1 cabin bag not exceeding 7 kg + 1 laptop bag.

With the new hand carry luggage rule, I no longer can manage without buying addon for luggage.

They usually will email and SMS you regarding any flight change. With such changes, most of the time, they will give you an option to change to another flight. For example, one of the emails I received for a flight change last year.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

This one was rescheduled to more than 2 hours and had Option 1 & 2. Whereas the other email I received..

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

This one didn't get any option because it's just a difference of 10 minutes I guess. I still get an email and SMS about it regardless. If you didn't receive anything, just contact them for more assistance.

I also affected with the reschedule & I called them and choose option 1 (change flight time w/o charge). Do you have experience how long will they processes the request? The CS told me I will receive email new flight time itinerary when approved but I still not receive any..

To be fair to them, they "Weigh" you before you go in. There are tons of airlines that weigh you/check the number of bags before you board. Like it or not, you will have to follow the rules. I have seen tons of people trying to stuff handbags into cabin luggages; people getting fined for having too many hand luggages; overweight on the hand luggages etc--- right before boarding.
