QUOTE(Eiraku @ Jul 5 2007, 11:14 AM)
Good to hear that the "brand" honors the customer enough for that... And good to hear everything's settled on your end... Good luck on your Ultimate Desktop Adventure! thumbup.gif

thanks man, appreciate it. yeah I am waiting for the both side panels for now. I called them and they said it will be shipped by the end of next week or so. Will update on that later.
QUOTE(Eiraku @ Jul 5 2007, 11:14 AM)
If, that is, you're still within that 14 days... If not, you're screwed just like the rest of us (or at least, like me)... Cosmetic damage that DOES not affect the system's operation? = not covered under CompleteCover... And clumsy me already has a bunch of em scratches... That's why I cellotaped cut up pieces of the defunct screen protector (which NO ONE else should waste their money on, please) onto the palm rests to protect them from scratches... sweat.gif
*

As a lot of u guys having it, i didn't know that scratches (or cosmetic damage to be exact) is normal issue (I assume based on what u guys posts). I think I was being a jerk yesterday then. The scratches is so small (at most it will be like 5mm, no way it reaches 10mm) but yet visible if we look super-closely. At a glance, I would say most will just get distracted by its beauty. If scratches/cosmetic damages are normal issue, then that absolutely gonna give me a peace of mind.

Lets just say, it didn't stick at all...  vmad.gif

Thank God it was only RM30, but it didn't stick that well as palmrest skins too... So I'll just skin it totally later... And where would I do the skinning? I'll just get some DIY skins (somebody's selling em in Garage Sales) as per my own design, and stick it myself... icon_rolleyes.gif

Anyway, I'm heading off to Uni tomorrow, so I'll be more or less absent from this moment forth in LYN... I'll be back as soon as I find some stable WiFI to latch on to... So, it's been nice hanging around here, and take care guys!
*
lol im goin to uni too..not gonna bring lap until im sure my room is adequately burglar proof, note that i didnt say completely burglar proof, because that's just rubbish...anyone determined enough with enough time can always break in vmad.gif

hmm as for skins...can i just use masking tape?...yea i know it's butt ugly but hey maybe i can draw something on it to make it "pretty" doh.gif

Afraid that the paint will stick to the masking tape = later pull off with paint summore... The horror... sweat.gif

Will test in a few minutes, as I conveniently have a roll of masking tape right next to me right now, and the texture of masking tape against my palm seems comfortable enough... icon_rolleyes.gif

Any of u guys remember "back" then we were discussing about mouse. I said something about Razer ProSolution mice that is built for air travelers to use in flight. Here is the link to it:

ProClick mobile

QUOTE
I read somewhere about the "on the plane" mice which u can move like an inch and the cursor already move like to the other end of the screen. I think its the ProType by razer if im not mistaken. That definitely suits u i think.

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Jun 22 2007, 02:02 AM)
If what you mean is the ProClick, it's just a rebranded Copperhead (if I'm not mistaken), sold for much much more (just because it's entirely white? Ah the Ipod generation)... icon_rolleyes.gif

And I only have a 12 inch screen... Even 1000DPI would be enough, 2000DPI (Copperhead, the higher end A4Tech mice) would just be overkill... It'll be like playing CS with sensitivity set to full... sweat.gif

Ah, it's been a while since I last played CS... It was an obsession back in high school, skipping class to play, "pow"ing my tuition teacher a bit for the money to play after tuition (she was a really nice lady)... Those were the days...  nod.gif
*
QUOTE
lol not that one, it is definitely a small mice that is made certainly for "on the flight" meals table. It is not even at their official site as i can search for now. I think i read somewhere in the mag and got some insider email about it. I'll check and get back to u later.

Added on July 9, 2007, 4:57 pmI quote myself:

Ignore everything i said, it must be bcoz im alil bit tense with the previous position that I was in, so somehow emotion filled me. There was a fault on my part too, which i supposed to give clearer proofs and stuff. I redo my effort with full co-operation at last they are kind enough to replace both left and right panel of the case. The main panel/main body has a super-duper tiny scratches that doesn't qualify for a new one. I give em that one as I myself would consider it is "too minor" scratches. In fact, i believe no matter how gentle one could handle the case, within a week of time or at most a month, people (or human haha) will somehow accidentally make those super-duper tiny scratches anyway. So far im happy with the solution. Hopefully i won't receive any defects/problems for the replacement panels but just a perfect pair of em.

Well, having a sometimes on sometimes off WIFI is worth calling them up for, but, as always, there's gonna be a SLIGHT chance of them hurting our XPS... SLIGHT only... But rather then suffer a problematic WIFI connection, better just go ask them to repair it... icon_rolleyes.gif

If they do something drastically bad to the your M1210, you can always claim negligance and ask for a replacement (hmm, lemme see, an M1330?)... sweat.gif

Or something... sweat.gif

@porkchop,
thanks for the info.

I'm also interested to get the BT module for XPS.
Can I buy it separately and installed it myself?
Thanks again.

The BT module, you can call Dell up and ask (so that you'll get one from official channels = covered in warranty), or you can scour ebay for a cheap alternative... I think I've seen them sold up there, dunno about the price though... sweat.gif

yup azel, i almost removed my recover partition as well. but vista crashed badly and i needed to reformat - cut not even get into windows. after that incident, i decided not to remove the partition and also i saved the new drivers and some softwares which i downloaded to the partition, so even if i have a clean install, i dont have to download everything again smile.gif

wow great idea..too bad didnt think of saving the downloaded stuff into the recovery partition >_<

btw...when i play my wmp11..it takes like 9 seconds to start playing songs and when it change songs its slow too like 5 seconds...and then there's this stuttering...ive read that this may be a driver issue...but i checked the version alr and it's the latest offered by dell (30/1/07)

any ideas anyone?
