QUOTE(Windy87 @ Oct 9 2007, 04:38 PM) putting up expected price might juz interest people. It's a general M1210 related thread, but yeah... Them mods might not take kindly to sales done in the info forums... btw..., aint this thread for technical support purposes? On this end, playing around with Sharp E shell... It's like an explorer (you know, the crap that does your taskbar, icons and desktop) replacement (a lot like blackbox, bblean, litestep and the like) that eats a heck of a lot less memory... A bit technical, but it works fine enough and if highly moddable... Not to mention it plays nice with most my games... Check out my deskie... Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(CONANDOR @ Oct 12 2007, 01:46 AM) cool desktop... Same here... Was a veteran of the early Warty years and used Ubuntu up to Edgy, back when Compiz was still Compiz and Beryl was cooler... And even then both Compiz and Beryl were miles ahead of what Vista (and dare I say even OSX) IS (even NOW) capable of doing in terms of accelerating the desktop... yet i now waiting d release of ubuntu 7.10. cant wait to try out Compiz Fusion.... lol But in the end, missed my Windows games too much, and when I finally got my M1210, I went back to the virus ridden wasteland that is Windows... If only the major game publishers viewed Linux as a viable gaming platform... Still, I miss the Terminal... Hours of cmdline fun... This post has been edited by Eiraku: Oct 12 2007, 02:33 AM |

QUOTE(Windy87 @ Oct 14 2007, 10:14 PM) hey guys, There's a slot for a WWAN card (read: 3G/HSDPA card) right beside the wireless card, but you won't have it filled UNLESS you ordered it specifically from Dell... BUT, no worries, nothing a credit card and a trip to eBay can't fix... Just google for Dell Wireless 5500 WWAN Mini Card... i took out my battery from my XPS juz now n saw a slot for sim card insertion. wads the use of it? build in HSDPA modem ka? kinda cool... cant find any info from the user manual ler.. Although I'm not sure if that card can be used with our local telcos... Call them up to check lah... |

Ladies and gents... I have some bad news and some good news...
The bad news is: I JUST DROPPED MY M1210 FOR THE FIRST TIME, FROM KITCHEN TABLE HEIGHT SUMMORE! Anddddddddd, the good news is: My M1210 survived, perfectly well (as of right now anyway)... Thank god... So, to some of you who plan to take advantage of CC (accidental drop coverage) and get yourselves a M1330 replacement, it's gonna be tough... The M1210 is NOT gonna give up without a fight! This post has been edited by Eiraku: Oct 17 2007, 06:02 AM |

Just fun to think about, anyway... Im too in love with my M1220 to exchange it for the M1330, not with the current rate of built quality defects anyway... event after 3 years, any accidental damage will be replace by parts. And Dell sure wasnt kidding when they said that the M1210 was built "RoadReady"... |
