It's a general M1210 related thread, but yeah... Them mods might not take kindly to sales done in the info forums... sweat.gif

On this end, playing around with Sharp E shell... It's like an explorer (you know, the crap that does your taskbar, icons and desktop) replacement (a lot like blackbox, bblean, litestep and the like) that eats a heck of a lot less memory... A bit technical, but it works fine enough and if highly moddable... Not to mention it plays nice with most my games... thumbup.gif

Check out my deskie...

Same here... Was a veteran of the early Warty years and used Ubuntu up to Edgy, back when Compiz was still Compiz and Beryl was cooler... And even then both Compiz and Beryl were miles ahead of what Vista (and dare I say even OSX) IS (even NOW) capable of doing in terms of accelerating the desktop... sweat.gif

But in the end, missed my Windows games too much, and when I finally got my M1210, I went back to the virus ridden wasteland that is Windows... sweat.gif

If only the major game publishers viewed Linux as a viable gaming platform... sweat.gif

Still, I miss the Terminal... Hours of cmdline fun... thumbup.gif

There's a slot for a WWAN card (read: 3G/HSDPA card) right beside the wireless card, but you won't have it filled UNLESS you ordered it specifically from Dell... BUT, no worries, nothing a credit card and a trip to eBay can't fix... Just google for Dell Wireless 5500 WWAN Mini Card... thumbup.gif

Although I'm not sure if that card can be used with our local telcos... Call them up to check lah... icon_rolleyes.gif

Ladies and gents... I have some bad news and some good news...

The bad news is:

I JUST DROPPED MY M1210 FOR THE FIRST TIME, FROM KITCHEN TABLE HEIGHT SUMMORE!

Anddddddddd, the good news is:

My M1210 survived, perfectly well (as of right now anyway)... Thank god... thumbup.gif

So, to some of you who plan to take advantage of CC (accidental drop coverage) and get yourselves a M1330 replacement, it's gonna be tough... The M1210 is NOT gonna give up without a fight! icon_rolleyes.gif

Dell is not going to replace with M13300 just by having crack or broken on M1210, all parts available at least for 5 years.
event after 3 years, any accidental damage will be replace by parts.

Haha... Just fun to think about, anyway... Im too in love with my M1220 to exchange it for the M1330, not with the current rate of built quality defects anyway... sweat.gif

And Dell sure wasnt kidding when they said that the M1210 was built "RoadReady"... thumbup.gif
