Don't own any FCB card. But I believe tourist do have discount if is using credit card. Last year when I purchased my Casio watch, they gave me 5% off for using VISA card, and additional 2% for metro card. Entitled 7% off from total bill. laugh.gif Better than nothing lol
*
just additional info for you, FCB card can get any discount on final price

example in BIC camera, 1000 yen, you will get 7% off if pay by VISA, final price 930 yen, still can get 10% off on 930 yen, final become 837 yen

anyway, your switch cannot get 7% or 5% discount in BIC camera pay by VISA
T&C already mention Nintendo Switch in the exclude list
https://jp-coupon.com/bland.html?key=2
but i think still can enjoy tax free

No worries, 10k note is not really huge for them. Definitely accepted in all places including vending machines.

Btw luckily didnt buy, i went to ask shops about japan units and apparently no region lock but malaysia and japan electric voltage is different. It might not even work and worst might explode if simply plug in.
*
god forbid you plug JP appliances into the wall without checking the power rating laugh.gif laugh.gif
if it mentioned 110~250VAC then it would be fine..otherwise if 110VAC, you need to get a transformer, otherwise it would go up in smoke..

Anyone take VIPLINER bus depart from Tokyo VIP Lounge b4? Iziz infront a family mart? Purchased a ticket which depart from there, but see from google map it doesn't look like a pick up point for bus。
Their website using google translate so their guidance are kinda messy

Hi guys, I will be flying off to Japan this coming Friday. Just wanna check, what is the common leisure dress code for guys there? If I wear bermuda pants, will I have any issue accessing the temple?

Facing a lot of obstacles, especially the bus trip from Narita to Kawaguchiko. They only allow one baggage per person put inside the bus storage. As I'm bring 2 baggage myself. I might need to think of using courier service in Narita Airport to deliver to hotel in Tokyo which I will be coming over after 2 days stay in Kawaguchiko.

VIP Liner doest not have any ticket office. All ticket must reserve online through PC / handphone. Waiting Lounge at Tokyo will be at 2F/3F Amerex Building 1-5-9 Yaesu Chuo Tokyo. Boarding the bus will be same building which is ground Floor (Family Mart)

Better this way since it will be a hassle to carry big luggage when moving around in Kawaguchiko/Hakone

How much to courier it to hotel from Narita? Bus tickets already paid?

Otherwise can consider rent coin locker at shinjuku station then take bus from there to kawaguchiko
But i doubt travel from Narita to Shinjuku is cheap.

Just a suggestion,

Hmmm but I think I've seen Japanese girls with short pants in temples. Is it frowned upon? And I thought there's no restriction in terms of this. Eg. Thailand is very strict and you'll have to wear a sarung or something to cover legs if one wears anything above the knee.

I may have missed but you're going to Kawaguchikp straight from Narita? 2 bags... if 2nd bag is a hand carry bag, you can put the hand carry inside the suitcase and just bring '1 luggage'.

Optionally what I plan to do, which will cost a lot, is to drop my baggage in Yamato counter in Yokohama and get to them deliver it to Shinjuku station. Planning to contact the baggage storage counter in Shinjuku to arrange for them to receive and store my luggage until I arrive to collect it 1 day later.

Hi, wanna do a quick review for Fuji Hakone Pass tour

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

All in all Lake Kawakuchigo is worth to going again for the Mount Fuji view
Food is pricier in Fuji & Hakone compare to Tokyo
*
Just saw this. Tour as in you followed tour? That's nice, then it's easy to move around. I'll be going Fuji 5 Lakes alone and I think I'll only be able to make it to Lake Yamanaka and Kawaguchi. I have done Owakudani, Hakone Shrine and Cruise in one of my previous trip. No to Gotemba coz we're not really keen on shopping hmm.gif

Out of the list, the one I really want to do is bike around Kawaguchiko. I'll figure how to do that as 1 of our friend can't cycle laugh.gif we can't leave her though. Hopefully they have the bike for 2 people. Doesn't seem possible to do Oshino Hakkai coz it seems out of the way. Didn't you do Shibazakura?? Since you're there.

Shibazakura only go into full bloom in Early to Middle of May (Depending on overall weather), when i was there in 16 April its only 20% bloomed. When purchase bus ticket to shibazakura, you can ask them how's the moss blooming.

Rapid Express and local express

Rapid = only few stops

Local = Stops all local stations.

They have shinkansen (bullet train hence faster)
