I watched that legendary anime and thanks for the recommendation. Will go there for my next trip.

And nice wedding photo shoot there!

Hi would like to ask suggestion for those who ever been to usj during the golden week season. Not sure to go on a friday (27th april) or monday (7th may). I am trying to avoid the weekends and the 29th april-5th may week, must be super crowded 😅. Anyone just came back recently from osaka and played the detective conan event in USJ? Isit worth it to get the express pass for the cool event? Thanks

Hi all, been doing some researches and came up with the itinerary. First time going Japan, will be going in group of 5 incld 1 elderly and 2 children 7 & 5yo. Please comment whether its workable or need to refine. Btw will be staying in Shinjuku, also any recommended airport transfer as not convenient to explore with an elderly & 2 kids in tow as my flight reaches Haneda 10.30pm on Tue.

Hi guys, I’m planning a trip to kyoto in may . I heard that kyoto station is a chaotic mess . Is it really that hard to get around ? I’m planning to get an Airbnb near Fushimi inari area (2stations away from Kyoto station on jr nari line) since it’s cheaper than staying near the station itself. Is this a good plan or should I jus pay the premium price to stay near kyoto station for simplicity sake ?any extra tip on dealing with the train system is much appreciated . Thx
P.s I will be traveling with an elderly with limited mobility

Anyone used interline flight or Tokyo before? I currently with Malindo-Ana, unable to check in online as Malindo had constantly change their flight time, do I need to obtain boarding pass twice or I will get all the boarding pass from Malindo counter when I check in at Klia. The luggage will be forward to final destination(Tokyo) upon request during first check in at Malindo counter Klia, am I right?

I think your first day is just too pack, especially if you are going with elderly. Akihabara alone can take you half a day, unless you just plan to go, buy and get out.

No
It does not working that way
X City > KLIA by Malindo Air? You have to collect luggage at KLIA and Re-check in at ANA counter (KLIA)

Emm.......Malindo dont have codeshare with ANA. Only with Batik Air (HQ) , Etihad Air , Turkish Airline.
ANA only codeshare with Star Alliance Airline
I belive you need collect Luggage and Re-check in at Changi.

If really got codeshare...you no need collect luggage at Changi...it will direct to Tokyo.

1. For late arrival to Haneda, look through page 1 again. There is a page there with plenty of information for you to look through.

2. For Day 1, you're trying to do too much with elderly and children tagging along. I will suggest Akihabara, Ameya Yokocho, Sensoji and Asakusa. Have a nice dinner in Asakusa and make your way home. There's nothing much in Tokyo Skytree unless you're planning to go up for the Observation Deck.

3. Day 3 - Doable. I suggest to skip Meguro River/ Shukuyamabashi Bridge; Sakura is ending. You'll save time. Meiji Shrine and Yoyogi Park is just next to each other. Note that you'll have to walk back to the entrance of Meiji Shrine (where you enter, exit same place) and walk next to it. Friends and I were inside Meiji Shrine and we saw signs pointing to another road to get to Yoyogi. However, after going big circles and ended up not sure where.

You can picnic in Yoyogi park, so feel free to buy some food from nearby mart. You can also bring alcohol there.

4. Day 4 - Not sure what's the price of the ticket in Klook, but you can get the Hakone pass at Shinjuku Station: https://www.odakyu.jp/english/passes/hakone/
And yes, I don't see an issue in bringing your child to Kabukicho. It's not like Chow Kit (at least that's how some my friends imagined it loll), it's more like a night-eateries-and-game-shops concentrated in an area.

5. Yes, it's too packed for your family since you added in Tsukiji. The Dorayaki is quite far from the other places so I'll suggest this for you if you insist to do Tsukiji:

Tsukiji - Walk ard & breakfast
Ginza:
- Itoya (Stationeries) ---------------->Pez: if no time, skip
- Uniqlo : Go up to the 2nd highest floor - that's where most of the t-shirts and popular selections are located.
- Manneken: Popular Belgian Waffle shop. ---------------->Pez: if queue is too long, skip
Odaiba
- Fuji TV: FOC (depends on preference in visiting this place) ---------------> Pez: Skip.
- Chibi Maruko Chan Café
- Odaiba - DECKS (afternoon): Enjoy *evening* view (in your case).
- DiverCity Tokyo Plaza : Shopping, souvenirs, specialty shops etc; check out the Food Court which has various selection of meals. Gundam statue is right outside the food court.
- Odaiba - DECKS (night): Enjoy night view; take photo of Rainbow Bridge and Statue of Liberty.

6. Day 6 - you can do Tokyo Tower + Tokyo Station. Or, in the morning you can drop by Tokyo Metropolitan Office for free observation, do a last round of shopping in Shinjuku and finally, check out & make your way to Tokyo Station.

i think they just did recently, everything was purchased via ANA website under single code.

p.s: just call up ANA, yes it's not a code share but a partnership only
need to do boarding pass twice, luggage wise have to request malindo to send it all the way to Haneda airport and will collect from there directly

Have to request Malindo send luggage? Will they charge extra? And how can you put in the request with Malindo? At the airport when you check-in?

If interline agreement normally when you check in at KLIA, Malindo should be able to tag your luggage all the way to Tokyo.

Boarding pass wise if Malindo can't issue it in KLIA then at Changi you have to either go to the transfer desks within the airport (I'm not sure if ANA has transfer desk airside), or go out and re-check in again at the check in desks.

edit: ANA has transfer desk airside: https://www.ana.co.jp/en/sg/international/d....html#anchor003

Hi, I brought 2 little kids to Tokyo. I will advise you to cut down on your places of interest and then spend quality time on those places. After all, you are enjoying the trip with your family right? Dragging 2 kids rushing here and there is very tiring especially if you have an elderly...

Another thing I tell you, is do not FIXED your itinerary date. Instead arrange your itinerary based on the weather. What I do for my trip is I arranged based on "Sunny day" for all the outdoor places (parks, gardens, etc) and "Cloudy/Rainy day" for the indoor places.
I am very flexible with my itinerary, I even skipped my Hakone trip because I couldn't arrange a good day for the trip, I then supplement it with some backup place of interest

Aha. Cool. I'll be there in November, it gotta be cold. Anything particular to lookout for, maybe? Leeches. Wild dogs. Wild boars. Checked in YouTube, there are signs of bears?!

thanks for the reply. when you were at tokyo station, was it difficult to find the bus that you have to board? Was everything manageable? any apparent problem one might have to face when trying to board a bus there?
