Actually pretty much everything from Apple is smooth... Whether its the MacBook (which I've used since 2011 and touch wood, hasn't given me major problems), the iPad (an excellent substitute for the notebook, if I'm meeting clients outside of an office environment - presentations can be delivered perfectly using Keynote), or the iPhone (need I say more ), all their products are of true quality in terms of hardware and software, hence the high price we have paid for our goodies...

So if we use this analogy, Samsung, Huawei, LG, Lenovo, and the other Android players are the equivalent of Toyota, Honda, Kia, and Hyundai (maybe even the "new" Proton), whilst Apple will fall into Mercedes, BMW, or Porsche territory...

Android phone? They have excellent features and are super-affordable for the masses but don't seem to have good durability, I must say... My boss previously used a Samsung Note and switched to the Huawei high-end model around mid-2017, and for both phones, he complained a few times about flickering screen, frequent dropped calls, phone going hang, etc. after around 6 months to a year of usage... And not forgetting the rather user-unfriendly interface, which somehow uses just too many icons to denote functions - very confusing for an Apple user (ours is mainly text based) to help an Android person with some stuff!

As of now, the iPhone X is what I'm using and I've also gotten very familiar with that no-Home-button interface (the elongated screen is amazing too)... In around an hour after buying the phone, haha!

Android = An empty bungalow
Apple = 5 stars hotel

Many people staying in big house, but doesn't know how to clean it, so it ends up dirty. While people staying in 5 stars hotel, there is housekeeping clean the room for them

i dun illustrate it this way. I just tell them, as long as ur budget ok, its ur preference, then go for it. no right or wrong, just whether it suits u or not.
i still think apple is also house, but luxury, and maid are all ready to help u, just that u can't change the maid LOL.
Android u have to hire own maid, u can change ur maid, but maid quality cannot be guaranteed.

I’m so used to having a blank screen though, so much so even when I was using Sammy’s latest and greatest I turned off AOD coz it was creeping me out, ha ha....

Well, its a feature that will utilize battery juice. Quite inveitable if you would like to have it.
I actually prefer the "raise to wake" display rather than AOD. Saves quite a bit on battery consumption.

Weird. I used to heard that iPhone was very solid, stable, no hang before. But now since iPhone 8/8 plus / X era with ios11, many of my friends and even I feel that is no longer the case.

My galaxy note 8, htc u11+ and even pixel 2 xl have no weird bugs like current iPhone.

I had 3 iPhone X in total (gray SG set, silver MY set, and gray MY set), all stimes got weird bugs. Battery icon disappear, whatsapp window shrunken to the middle, unable to touch to answer call, phone stuck in landscape mode in certains apps like whatsapp, youtube video doesnt want to minimize, and many more.

And I’m not alone.

So as a user, should we feel good about that? Hardware or software it doesn't matter. Any issue still affects our usage. It's not like we can simply change the OS. Lol.
It's not a solution. My point is, iPhone itself has lots of bugs. So stop dreaming.

iOS is not perfect but these features really catch my heart hence my departure from Android platform this year:

1. First iPhone with a new design after 4 generations
2. iOS is the boss, apps cannot run in background, access location and private data unless explicitly allowed. Unlike in android where google play services basically can do anything it likes.
3. Finally a stable Bluetooth stack. Things just work.
4. No contest when it comes to standby time and idle drain. iOS just rules.
5. Apps generally look and feel more high quality on iOS.
6. Notifications are a bit of a mess but can be disabled easily in one place.
7. Bloody fast NVME storage.

Oh yeah another thing. Auto brightness algorithm is so much better than all my previous android phones. All in all definitely not a perfect device and os. Balanced is the word I’d use.

I know AOD in Samsung is quite bad in battery drainage right? Hopefully when it made available in iOS, the battery still steady
