Comparing with 6S (iOS 11) all my setting are the same and I set my iPhones to sleep mode when I go to bed. I do have 2-3 % battery drain on my X which I think is cause by Face ID setting and is normal (?). Of course my situation cannot be compared with yours.

Hey guys, just wondering any owner here making a jump from Iphone 8plus to IphoneX? If yes, any regret? And reason to do so. Question also applies to new owner of iphone 8plus making a ‘jump’ from IpX.

Previously on my 7 plus, if i went to sleep with the phone at 100%, i'll wake up with it still at 100%. Mind you cellular coverage in my house is marginal at best and my wifi is always on at home too.

I'll be more than happy if my x can only drain 2-3% per night. But recently because of the mail app and now waze, it's been draining about 20% a night.

At least the gmail app is running normally, taking up 3-4% of my battery usage per day.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still enjoying the phone and am still in love with its looks and size. If I had to choose another phone, I'd buy the x again in a heartbeat. But it is still very disheartening to be made guinea pigs for their developers after paying so much money, being spoilt all these years by apple knowing that once I take my new iphone out from its box and get it charged, it will just work. Period. Which is also why people pay a premium price for iphones over other makes and models. The current experience doesn't justify the premium anymore.

It’s just a rogue app. Sometimes need to completed removed and reinstalled.
New versions of Waze are getting suckier. Notice how sownthe reroute calculation is now? I thought it’s mobile data issue, but on WiFi same issue.
Also, once I login with my waze ID after changing to new iPhone, my recent destination locations all gone. No issue if I didn’t login.
If battery leak, just completely delete and reinstall. Especially true when u just restore setup a new iPhone with previous backups.

if u ok with iphone 8 plus then stay with it.
ip x doesn't look any bigger if compare o ip8plus due to the 18.5:9 and 16:9.

one of my buyer at the end give up and pass to his wife, and his wife also reluctant to take it due to the size sweat.gif

but the way, im enjoy with face ID and i prefer it more than touch ID.
only thing is sometime u can't back to home immediately cause its not a button to click but to slide it, sometime could be lag or didn't slide properly, dangerous for ppl who is watching... then want to back to home immediately laugh.gif

Ahhh understood that very well😂 in that crucial moment you really need to make it to home in a tap and not in a slide... lol

The want of owning X is 99% aesthetically for me due to the aging form of 8 plus. The overall usage i still prefer the plus due to the size and touch id.
I would definitely get the X plus next year if they doesnt price it too high for the highest end model.

Ya, agreed. The X is not an upgrade over the Plus size models but the regular models. It's just nice to have something different after 4 years of same old, same old laugh.gif

Ya, technically not an upgrade, but more like different model biggrin.gif
Coming from the 8 Plus, iPhone X screen is smaller but the phone size also smaller and easier to handle though the 8 Plus battery life is much better

Looking at my iPhone X now, the sides, top and bottom all starting to collect scratches even though i put in casing
Mayb should have gone with the Black colour instead of the Silver sweat.gif

But silver sides you can polish the frame without worrying about discoloration, hehe

Same here. ipx with screen protector and in case since day 1. I can notice some micro scratches on the back glass but nothing so far on the side bezels.

This the problem with Apple stuff - too shiny and too easy to scratch. My recently sold off note5 was practically with zero scratches after 2 years.

Any tips for iphone x battery? Usage around 6 hrs from 100% to 3-5%. Saw lots of user reported higher than this. Is turning off background app refresh helps to improve battery life?

I usually can get at least 8 hours of proper usage from 100%-10% at around 30% brightness on cellular data...
