I'm getting almost 2x battery on my x compare to the 7plus...
Wow that's great. I've been on the fence about swapping my 7 plus for the X as I was worried about the smaller battery capacity. Guess there was no cause for concern at all.
I was at Digi 1U earlier. Absolutely no stock for the 256GB.
Just do it! U won’t regret a tad bit going to ipx it’s better in almost everything besides the slightly smaller screen size..
Hahaha. I'll probably drop by Digi Midvalley or Bangsar tomorrow if time allows. Wish me luck!
I've held my colleague's X in my hands before and I just looooovvvveeeeeeee its size. A zillion times more comfortable than holding the 7 plus and I don't really have the smallest hands, mind you. I seriously love the fact that I can slip a range topping iphone into the pocket of my jeans. Too many years of holding onto my phone whenever I'm out and about and I freaking hate it already.
Also, the gestures became somewhat second nature only after a few minutes of handling the X so I doubt I'll miss the home button much.
However, I think your battery life experience has finally made me decide to get the X.
Cool...yes I kinda forgot about home button after 3 mins using the x the size is good just that I came from 3 generations of the plus models..so it takes time....but it won't be too long till the bigger x launch....I'll definitely get that
bro, you running 2mdb or 3mdb?
By the way, anyone using the otterbox pursuit? I've been using the lifeproof fre on my 7 plus but they've yet to release one for the ipx. The pursuit case seems to be the closest to the fre that's currently available.
Yep that's the one, saw it at machines going for rm319
My 7 plus battery can last me for 2 days on average these days. Was even better prior to ios11, easily 2.5 days before recharging. Excited to see how long the ipx can last based on my usage.
i used otterbox defender before for my note 5 and i hated it so much... waay to bulky for me...
Yea I've never liked the defender series. The silicone outer piece is a lint magnet and makes keeping and pulling the phone out of your pants pocket a real pain. The commuter is much better as the outer hard shell actually helps in maneuvering it in/out of your pockets. However the cut out for the Apple logo is exposed, which is strange.
The new pursuit series was meant to be an in between case, supposedly giving you the best of the defender and commuter but with a lot less bulk than the defender.
yeap.... I put an ip8 next to the x and press home button + swipe the same time.... the x get to home screen almost 2x faster as there is no delay in between..
charging time (based on personal testing):-
7.5W fast wireless charger - charge about 40-45% an hour 5w adapter + lightning cable (comes with the box) = 35% an hour 5w adapter + usb-c to lightning cable = ?? 12w adapter (from ipad) + lightning cable = 65% an hour 12w adapter + usb-c to lightning cable = ?? 29w adapter + lightning cable = ?? 29w adapter + usb-c to lightning cable = ??
Actually based on this youtube guy's test, the 29W charger isn't THAT much faster than the ipad charger.
Don't think I'll pay 300+ for the 29W charger + USB-C cable combo to save half an hour or so.
First time embedding youtube videos here. Keeping my fingers crossed. *Edit - Hey hey it worked.

haha yea buy it now get free black camo skin... the thing is... the brand is still new and for that price people can get from reputable brands like rhinoshield/UAG/spigen/otterbox...
But the material they use in the case seems pretty crazy.
yea, just curious whats the back material though, if anyone knows..
Apparently they use the actual material. If it's the bamboo design they'll use real bamboo. If it's the carbon fiber design they'll use real carbon fiber. Etc
I don't even submerse the iphone more than 0.5 meter. I play with it around 10 minutes on the surface water. . It is totally can't turn on .
Shouldn't there be a case for warranty claim? IPx7 is supposed to protect your device against the effect of immersion between 15cm and 1m for 30 minutes. If your phone was submerged within the IPx7 depth and duration limits, it means the water sealing would have failed somewhere.
For a more accurate description, the IEC states that a 7 rating ensures ingress of water in harmful quantity shall not be possible when the enclosure is immersed in water under defined conditions of pressure and time (up to 1m of submersion) and guarantees protection for up to 30 minutes.

I think main issue here is the warranty wouldn't cover for any water damage related issues, they wouldn't want to know how you used it, whether is it on surface water or deep into the pool, they just wont be responsible over any water damage...
True. There isn't really a way for the owner to prove that the phone was submerged within limits. Unless they find some defects with the water seal when opening up the phone, maybe then it can still be argued.
The statement is totally misleading us and it is gain our confident with the IPX7. However, there is no way for us to show that we use it within the limitation of IPx7. Let say it is a defect unit like not sealing in 100% and we cant do anythings about it as the liquid damage indicator turn to red colour in the end.
Feel so sorry for you. The IP rating should in fact be a guarantee of its performance and we should be confident in it. Any failures from utilizing the device within limits are definitely manufacturing defects. No manufacturer tests 100% of their products and no manufacturer's output is 100% perfect so there are bound to be some lemon units. 2900+ is 70% of the price of a brand new iphone x in the US and it's already considered expensive for americans in general. Yet we're paying such an amount just to replace a lemon unit.
But to open up your phone to check on the water seal, they'd have to first break the seal before your phone can be opened up. Catch22 situation.
sorry to hear that man.... 2.9k to repair is a painful experience..
Yea that's painful. When my girlfriend got her S7 Edge, she dropped it and smashed the screen in the first month itself. Cost me about 1k to have it changed. When we were on holiday recently, she dropped it and smashed the screen again. Aiiiiii.
Which is why I'm trying to get an ipx now so that I can pass her my 7 plus but digi is making my life very misrable.
What you can do is call Apple Care. Talk to them about your issue. if they also say that you need to pay and fix, then ask them to escalate your case to higher level which means they will escalate to australia. Then when that happens, talk to them nicely and talk to them to give you a replacement for free... be nice and talk nicely... it can be done. ive done it before for cracked screen. so good luck.
How'd you even get them to give you a free replacement for a phone with a cracked screen? That's impressive.
Crap. i actually plan to wash my phone also ehhh But not now la.. now still feel very clean
Like that, then what's the point of certified the phone as IP 67 right? It ended up like a marketing gimmick instead. No put TG kah? How they wash it? Interested to know..
Both times pun ada glass sp bro but both times also dropped on tarmac la. She doesn’t like bulky cases though so I got her the Samsung clear view case. Doesn't really offer much protection. Just looks good.
At IKEA Australia, they have some nice looking wireless charging lamps. Wondering when Malaysia will bring them in instead of their current not so nice looking ones.
Would have bought the lamp but needing to use a universal adaptor for the Aus plug is quite troublesome.

Think I read somewhere that these ikea lamp/wireless chargers are low powered ones. Apparently it'll charge your x very slowly and it'll just keep your battery warmer for a longer period of time. In other words, it may look nice and convenient but it may not be that good for your phone battery in the long run, especially in hot climates like ours.
But having said that, since battery replacement only costs RM129 nowadays....
Serious? Damn....just checked mine is 12w lol...air 1
QUOTE(MasBoleh! @ Jan 6 2018, 11:52 PM)
So some they gave 10 while some they gave 12w? Lol... ok. *speechless*
Yep. Check the online apple forums. There's been a lot of confusion regarding this.
Anyways to bring this issue back on topic, since I've been charging my iPad Pro using my old iPad air 12w charger, I have a brand new 10w charger waiting for my incoming ipx
