Managed to toy with the OnePlus, finally. It’s not pure Android per se, right? Anyways, that was a friend’s phone so have no idea how is the battery life in real life application based on my usage pattern. But the pure Android phone I'm using now basically runs circles around the 2017 flagships that I’ve tried (S8, S8+, U11 and Note 8) in terms of pure battery performance. Sure, everything else is inferior but it makes me wonder how cool it’d be to have flagship specs running pure Android. Oh well, too bad no Pixels here.
The Note 8 is a great phone for what it can do, and it’s a far smoother experience with 6GB RAM on board compared to the S8 and S8+, but if you don’t use the S-Pen that much, then it won’t amaze you for too long, ha ha. I sold mine off in 3 weeks

Anyways as you mentioned, you already have the X, might as well try something different since you’re gonna buy it on a subsidy anyway. No point having 2 of those iPhone X, or is there? Ha ha

I always get  annoyed when I'm on the phone when the alarm rings....

Sometimes the screen wouldn't dim it. Wonder what happens. Cannot be due to the SP as sometimes it's off.

I have note 8, pixel 2 xl, razer phone and onePlus 5t to partner with iPhone X. I can say note 8 is the best because it is the only phone that can do something iPhone X cant do.
Galaxy note 8 (despite not so good battery life), allows u to have extra functionality like s-pen whenever u need it. It is also a perfect all rounder phone with ip rating (vs Oneplus 5t and razer), dual sim (vs pixel 2 xl), microSD slot (vs oneplus 5t and pixel 2 xl).

I'm definitely not a fan of spen...from my experience with note2/3/4/5, I almost forgot about having a spen....I'm always skeptical about imported sets but this time about, I might go with the pixel 2 xl....

agree on the S-Pen. The one thing i use alot especially when taking down screen off notes. very useful.

however it solely depends on the user... if the pen is a requirement or not. if it is not, then note 8 should not be the only choice out there. though i agree it is one hell of a good looking phone. except the battery part.

Yea 12w and 29w has very little diff, not worth the $$, but I'm wondering 12w with USB c vs 12w with lightning...what's the diff lol

How’s the temperature at the back of your phone?

Mine gets very warm and I feel uncomfortable with it, just wondering is it normal due to the higher power supply.

Secondly, when I’m using camera, the phone will get warm very fast too, just after 2-3 pics.

My iph x is naked, no casing, got back TG. Thx

Update for those following my battery usage:

Note 8 vs IPX
Bluetooth off on both devices as its unfair since my Note is connected to my GearS3.
IPX using WIFI at office but note 8 on Data

So far, after full charge it has been about 3 hours.

IPX: 45minutes screen time, 94% battery left. (Facebook + CoC + BoomBeach)
Note8: 15 Minutes screen time, 87% battery left. (Whatsapp + short facebook load and nothing else)

So far, IPX is surely winning....

due to device drawing higher Amp, most phone fast charge with higher Amp will be warmer... the reason you start to see your ipx less warm after 60% is due to the device start to draw lesser Amp
i notice the USB PD charge ipx only feel warmer around 0-50%, after that start to become cooler... at 75-80%++ the phone hardly feel any warm d, it draw much lesser amp until reach 100%

this is similar with previous gen iphone, 0-80% is normal charge, 80-100% is slower... 0-80% could takes 1hour, 80-100% another hour to charge

Some user of rhinoshield few page back saying that there is a gap between the case and phone for the btm part of the case, quite a turn off for me edi
