I have note 8, pixel 2 xl, razer phone and onePlus 5t to partner with iPhone X. I can say note 8 is the best because it is the only phone that can do something iPhone X cant do.
Galaxy note 8 (despite not so good battery life), allows u to have extra functionality like s-pen whenever u need it. It is also a perfect all rounder phone with ip rating (vs Oneplus 5t and razer), dual sim (vs pixel 2 xl), microSD slot (vs oneplus 5t and pixel 2 xl).

Plus both iPhone X and Note 8 support the same wireless charger.

Wow just curious why do you need so many phones laugh.gif
So note 8 is even better than the pixel 2 XL?

I bought to play / test then sell off to friends or here.

Pixel 2 Xl is a great phone, I like it very much. But it is too similar with iPhone X (android edition though tongue.gif).

With note 8, at least you have something a lil bit different for different purpose.

Wow actually I’m looking for something similar to ipx but on diff platform...looks like the pixel 2 xl is something worth exploring...but I’m not keen on imported sets..I’ll enquire more on the pixel 2 thread smile.gif thanks!

The side does provide better grip. The leather at the back might be slippy at first but will get better with time and use.

Actually based on this youtube guy's test, the 29W charger isn't THAT much faster than the ipad charger.

Don't think I'll pay 300+ for the 29W charger + USB-C cable combo to save half an hour or so.

First time embedding youtube videos here. Keeping my fingers crossed. *Edit - Hey hey it worked.

Same thing guy of machines told me few weeks ago on usb adapter. Rather than buy usb-c, ipad charger would be sufficient enough.

Even in term of numbers is diff, 12w and 29w. Where people always thought bigger watt would be better. However, in term of hours required it wont much of difference.

Probably, 2hours 15minutes +- or up to 2 hours 30minutes only.

but as daily use, not many peoples charge to 100% full, the fast charger from USB PD is actually worth for between 0-80%, it is faster than 12W ipad charger, i mean not only 15mins diff when charge to 100%, even though diff by ~20%, it can make iphone x last 1 to 1.5hours longer...

for example, if you are in hurry, you only have 30mins, the USB PD charger, will be more useful in this case, 30mins provide you more % than the 12W, not just 15mins different in the end at 100% smile.gif

I have the Note 8 too. Battery drain is still an issue with TW, as usual.  yawn.gif Thats why I am more onto the Oneplus phones for android right now.
*
Managed to toy with the OnePlus, finally. It’s not pure Android per se, right? Anyways, that was a friend’s phone so have no idea how is the battery life in real life application based on my usage pattern. But the pure Android phone I'm using now basically runs circles around the 2017 flagships that I’ve tried (S8, S8+, U11 and Note 8) in terms of pure battery performance. Sure, everything else is inferior but it makes me wonder how cool it’d be to have flagship specs running pure Android. Oh well, too bad no Pixels here.

QUOTE(dikae @ Jan 3 2018, 04:50 PM)
ok...another one telling me not to go for note 8... thanks bro lol, initially I was quite keen to get note 8 as 2nd phone but now I think im sticking more towards another ipx...safe bet..
*
The Note 8 is a great phone for what it can do, and it’s a far smoother experience with 6GB RAM on board compared to the S8 and S8+, but if you don’t use the S-Pen that much, then it won’t amaze you for too long, ha ha. I sold mine off in 3 weeks laugh.gif

Anyways as you mentioned, you already have the X, might as well try something different since you’re gonna buy it on a subsidy anyway. No point having 2 of those iPhone X, or is there? Ha ha biggrin.gif

Yea 12w and 29w has very little diff, not worth the $$, but I'm wondering 12w with USB c vs 12w with lightning...what's the diff lol
