Getting Started

|
QUOTE(jslut @ May 1 2007, 10:34 AM) just finished setting up the new rig but on the start already got problems i tried installing windows xp, then at a certain stage error came up. something about couldn't find catalog something... the only thing i changed in bios is setting the nb strap to 266... is it that setting that caused this prob?? I would install my windows on EVERYTHING STOCK. no overclocking. Once the windows xp installation when through every that need to be installed go installed in the system. Try restart a few time to lock all windows setting then only I will try out the overclocking. I am still waiting for my c2d E6600 now running Pentium D 930 and manage to touch Memory 502Mhz at speed 3770 Mhz. The system is running 24/7 and very stable. The PentiumD is very hard to anything more than 4 Ghz.

It seems like PC Wizard 2007 is not compatible with our boards ler. As when i use the ITE Smart Guardian software that comes in the driver cd, it shows my +12V rails as 11.96Volts. Seems like PC Wizard 2007 is not compatible with DFI Infinity P965-S after all.

p/s: What are the latest changes in the 424 BIOS ? at Smart Guardian select Options set all the fan control option to Software Control and set Fan Speed Control to full. That would sort it out This post has been edited by almostthere: May 2 2007, 03:19 AM

I'm using a standard stock cooler, cleaned off the thermal paste with nail polish cleaner and then applied artic ceramique. I've also attached a 4.5k rpm P3 fan to teh NB, and closed my casing. Getting CPU temp 52 deg, NB temps of 41 deg, and system 64 deg (???!!!)
