Still liquid asset, within one two weeks is non issue. This is where you keep your wealth.

Yield is small, better save in stocks or forex markets.

But of course small yield but low risk.
*
It depends on use and why/how you want to keep your assets liquid.

Savings accounts aren't meant to grow wealth, they're "rainy day" or emergency savings. The important part is speed/ease of access to cash and stable value. At most also using high yield savings account is to partially hedge against inflation.
Forex and stocks aren't as stable, even if it's relatively liquid, which will turn away those who value stability.

Any asset which has value is easygoing to liquid

The difference that cash as an asset lies in savings because it is more cash flow purpose not the store of wealth and growth asset doh.gif

Stock is quite liquid with T+2, but not as liquid as saving account.

What if the stock owned is suspended due to corporate activities or whatever? Then need to wait the stock to be back to trading.

Saving account is not a place to keep wealth, but serve as daily or quick needs.

The only reason I stuck to OCBC 360 instead of RHB Smart Account is quite frankly, I do not spend much every month 😂 or rather I dislike spending much.

IMO OCBC 360 is good for miser/frugal people/user with small income or expenditure.

I am agree with you.

I am considering moving to RHB smart account too. If I am unable to meet the Spend category, I still can get 2.80%p.a. compare to OCBC 2.15% p.a.

I renew my RHB debit card in branch (have to) the officer told me even I have saving account with RHB, when I switch to smart account I still need to go to branch for verification. This is contradict with the information stated in their official website. I am not sure whether the staff is giving the wrong info to me.

We still have ewallets reload to reap on for now. So RM 1000 is not a problem yet.

I can confirmed if you are an existing CASA holder with RHB, Smart account can be opened and activated fully online. Even the spending account, they also auto defaulted to Smart account. BUT not sure whether they had changed the rules or not; as mine was set up not long after the launched.

Thanks for your insights.

Just curious, the existing casa will auto change to smart account or the casa will still be there in addition to the new smart account for those who have casa with RHB already.

Your original account would not "disappeared". What I mean is when you do spending with your DC, funds will be taken from the newly set up Smart. Other banks you need to call or go to branch to change. But still, this is my experience when this product was rolled out.

Just an update for my smart account opening online in RHB.

I have successfully opened the smart account and my existing debit card number appear during the online application. So I think my debt card is linked to the smart account.

However, I have transfer 11k from my other bank to the smart account but the Bonus 1 (Save) category still showing RM0.00 to go status. Anything I have missed out?

ok, thank for the info.

Can I start pay bills and spend using debit card for the Bonus 2 and 3?

All the Bonus 2 and 3 will be updated after 2 working days start counting from the paid date?

The bonus 1 (Save) is require us to deposit minimum RM2k monthly but it stated that we entitle for Bonus 2 and 3 once we have fulfill Bonus 1. Does all the entitlement will be consolidate at month end. So, we no need to deposit RM2k every beginning of the month but just ensure there is a total of Rm2k before the end of the month.

The 2k deposit can include a lump sum of 2k and also few deposited total RM2k?

My debit card is still attached with the existing saving account and not the smart account. This is because I am unable to top up ewallet from the debit card for RM200+ while I am able to top up for small amount like RM1.00. My existing saving account has less than RM10 while RM11K in smart account.

May I know how can I change the debit card to attach to smart account?

8. If I choose to change my Savings or Current account linked to RHB Debit Card, what
should I do?
 You have to go to the branch where you applied for the RHB Debit Card.
 Fill up the RHB Services form and indicate your intended account number in the account link
column

I have only 1 debit card and I do not change my debit card. During the online application of my smart account, my debit card number is automatically appear and no other option. From here, my debit card should linked with my smart account. However, when I want to top up RM200+ to my Bigpay account using RHB debit card, it said I do not have sufficient fund. When I tried top up RM1.00, it can went through.

Please read again. The FAQ I pasted said "change the savings/current account that is linked to card", not change the debit card/add new debit card.

this is from FAQ for Islamic debit card, it's the same:

Q4 If I choose to change my Savings Account-i or Current Account-i linked to my RHB Debit Card-i (Visa/
MasterCard) / RHB Debit Card-i (Generic), what should I do?

A4 You have to go to the RHB Bank/RHB Islamic branch where you applied for the RHB Debit Card-i (Visa/
MasterCard) & RHB Debit Card-i (Generic) account. Fill up the RHB Services Form and indicate your intended
account number in the account link column.

From my knowledge they won't allow change of linked account online for security reasons, must go to branch and fill in service form to change. I'm not sure if they've changed their procedure (I only ever held one RHB account and one linked card).
