RHB Bonus Saver has no other conditions after 12 months. Fantastic account for day-to-day use.

RHB Smart has too many restrictive conditions. Read the conditions first.

Yes, only need to work hard to get through the first year incremental bonus interest. A real good saving rate @ 2.65% thereafter.

Ambank have 2 new products worth considering:

1) eFlex - Up to 3 months current FD board rate if one could maintain RM 10K throughout the month, else base rate 0.5%

2) Am Partner - A current account with Bonuslink points and up to 1.5% interest.

rarely fpx. fpx from any other bank for fd placement can? thanks.

just did bigpay rm500 with my hlb atm card (but it's mach atm card shld be ok), plan to do add to sspn with fpx rm500, and already credited rm2000 this month), enough for 2.5%?

i also notice monthly average balance of ~70k is optimum for 2.5% due to the cap rm30 for debit card spend and pay bill/fpx.
*
I dont know can or not, you can try, but logically yes.

If you rarely do FPX, the safest way is simply dump RM 500 to Bigpay via online banking (=FPX), then case closed for the month.

Your (ATM) Debit Card spending account must be debited from your pay and save account, else no spend bonus

I have few question regarding RHB Smart account.

I have saving account with a debit card.

Just to confirm, I do not need to go to RHB branch for verification and get a debit card or apply their credit card if I open the Smart account online. This mean I just "Upgrade my saving account" while maintaining my debit card. How about existing saving account?

For Pay bonus, is it qualify if all bill payment is using JomPay to different account number (kindly refer to the example below)?
Is their minimum amount per bill payment?

Example:
TM    a/c:00001  RM10  method: JomPay
TM    a/c:00007  RM10  method: JomPay
TNB  a/c: 10346  RM10  method: JomPay

For Spend bonus, I will be using debit card.
- Does it accept online shopping using debit card? Does it allow pay using online banking (FPX) or need to insert debit card and other card details?
- For retail spending, accept paywave or need to insert the card pin?
*
If you hold existing CASA, Smart Account can be opened fully online.

Yes, provided 3 different account numbers. No minimum amount, minimum amount is subjected to JOMPAY billers itself.

Spend bonus must charged to card, be it debit or credit, you charge to FPX would not get spend bonus (FPX will get bonus only for HLB pay & save).

Thank you for the reply.

The Spend bonus is include retail and online spend. For retail spend, does it include PayWave and insert card pin (the card is insert into the pos machine and the cashier need the payer to key the pin)?
*
Spend bonus is spend as you like, prolonged your card get charged for at least RM 1000 per calendar month; posting must be done within the same month.

AND remember to qualify for SAVE bonus before you can qualify for PAY and SPEND!

I am agree with you.

I am considering moving to RHB smart account too. If I am unable to meet the Spend category, I still can get 2.80%p.a. compare to OCBC 2.15% p.a.

I renew my RHB debit card in branch (have to) the officer told me even I have saving account with RHB, when I switch to smart account I still need to go to branch for verification. This is contradict with the information stated in their official website. I am not sure whether the staff is giving the wrong info to me.
*
We still have ewallets reload to reap on for now. So RM 1000 is not a problem yet.

I can confirmed if you are an existing CASA holder with RHB, Smart account can be opened and activated fully online. Even the spending account, they also auto defaulted to Smart account. BUT not sure whether they had changed the rules or not; as mine was set up not long after the launched.

Thanks for your insights.

Just curious, the existing casa will auto change to smart account or the casa will still be there in addition to the new smart account for those who have casa with RHB already.
*
Your original account would not "disappeared". What I mean is when you do spending with your DC, funds will be taken from the newly set up Smart. Other banks you need to call or go to branch to change. But still, this is my experience when this product was rolled out.

I just called their customer service about my issue.

They told me that I need to go to RHB branch to linked the debit card and require verification.

Close account and maintain less than 1k will have penalty.

Another question that I would like to ask.

I am tried to pay utility bill using JomPay. We can select pay using debit card and from smart account. If I choose debit card does it consider under Spend category and if I pay using smart account, does it consider under Pay category?

For Hong Leong Pay & Save account:-
under pay bills category, can it be online transfer(duit now) to another bank for housing loan payment  ?

under spend category with debit card, can we reload ewallet to fulfill this criteria ?
*
To make your life simple, just FPX to any merchants or banks amounting to a minimum of RM 500 and viola, job done.

Spend with debit card, ewallet reload is for sure.

FPX to merchants looks ok, just wandering any idea how does one FPX to bank ?
*
If you are OCBC customers, you should know what I meant. Anothet way is every month do RM 500 eFD to other banks via FPX with pay and save account.
