This last few years has been the worse rock bottom of McLaren, even worse than the period after Senna left and Mika just joined. Very sad to see teams with such great history like McLaren & Williams are languishing at the back badly. Hopefully some day they will bounce back like Ferrari instead of disappearing off like Lotus.

So who will fill that void? My expectation is Lando Norris.... (although I don't know if he have enough points for superlicence).

Edit: Confirmed, it's Norris.

So now Ocon is really in danger of missing a seat for 2019! Now only Haas may have a potentially decent seat available by kicking out Grosjean but Haas is tied to Ferrari while Ocon is to Mercs, similar also with Sauber which may have a seat vacated by Leclerc. Otherwise he may need to settle for Williams but again that's similar to getting a seat in McLaren these days! laugh.gif

Poor Seb now starts whining to Ferrari about driver management saying he should've been on pole at Monza and that he also still needs to race Kimi in addition to Ham & Bottas. laugh.gif He's beginning to stress now as the points gap already big, and now showing his true colors by trying to shift the blame to others rather than admitting that most if not all of those points lost were due to his own mistakes. If he continues like this, he will never beat Ham and history will see that Ham is the greater champ in this era.

This also most likely means that Kimi's time in Ferrari & F1 will be over soon by end of this year.

Ferrari seems hell bent on sc***ing up Kimi both on and off track.... Kimi has the right to be angry and stop being a supporting role to Vettel and adhering to team orders. As if it is not bad enough that the team always messed up Kim's race in favour of Vettel, now ferrari sc***ed Kimi further by releasing him at such late in the stage of the season forcing Kimi no way to go for 2019 season. Ferrari earlier assured Kimi will get another two years contract extension until 2020 but now left him in the dust.... Kimi has been a good driver and a great team player, an asset to ferrari, and this is how they chose to repay him for his service and loyalty.

Mick Schumacher totally dominating this weekend in european F3 (winning 3 out of 3 races). Even better it's his home race. Potential F1 drive in 5 years but it's too early to say.

i think Ferrari should keep kimi until 2020. But then, th problem is he 'sometimes' fast make it hard to make vettel win/get pole, but aren't really fast when it matters. At least bottas is consistant thus make it easier for mercedes to make their strategy works.

I also actually think it's better for Leclerc to go to Haas first to further hone his race craft before moving to Ferrari to partner Seb because if he goes there next year, I think he will be destroyed by Seb and therefore be worse for his career and also worse for Ferrari in terms of winning titles if the 2nd driver got demoralized.

As for Kimi going to Sauber, naah I don't think he will bother. He will and should just quit rather than trundling around in a mid-field team.

Hmm quite surprised that Kimi still wants to go back to Sauber. hmm.gif So apparently his desire to still race in F1 is still quite strong after all even just to drive for Sauber, or is there anything not yet disclosed behind this swap?? Maybe there's a clause in the contracts that if Leclerc failed to perform as expected, they would put back Kimi? hmm.gif

Or maybe the 2019 Alfa Romeo will be a Ferrari in disguise.

Naah by regulation it shouldn't be. They're only allowed to have the same power unit but not chassis.
