Things with McLaren is too much promise and talking but deliver nothing. Time to shut up and work their problem..just stop claiming they have the best chassis is a start.

If I have to say let Alonso go. At this time McLaren need a driver who can stay on with the rebuild process. Alonso has run out of time he want a winning car not wait a few years more also his moaning is getting old. Every weekend he got something to moan at, how does this will help things? All this is just bring negativity to a already frustrated team.

Team needs a reshuffling in every part then I can see McLaren be back on top just like Ferrari now.

There's also a rumor that Kimi might return to McLaren after getting dumped by Ferrari for Leclerc.

Yup but Kimi returning to McLaren I think is still possible, coz as the races go by, it seems more likely that Leclerc will replace him.

Let's say rumours are true. Kimi goes to McLaren, McLaren changes pay off, and Kimi starts winning with them, Alonso will bang his head on the wall.

Hahaha yeah that would be fun to watch but wishful thinking. McLaren will not be able to turn around so quickly coz they're still too far behind the top 3. If this season they're already close to RB then that would be more realistic but that 'best chassis' claim is already proven absolutely rubbish after all! laugh.gif

Alonso is a great driver, but not a team player and can bring team motivation. IMO vettel does a great job bringing Ferrari back to the top.

I don't think Kimi is a good choice for them. Better they get Riccardo, offer him a long term contract and start building a new car 'around' him.

From McLaren point of view of course better to get Ric than Kimi (that's why there's rumor he has been offered $20m by McLaren!) but I don't think Ric would want to go there if his main priority is to win as opposed to just money. But I think Ric is running out of options now other than stay in RB. He is just eyeing on either Merc or Ferrari, so waiting for Ham & Bottas to sign with Mercs or not, and if Ferrari signs Leclerc to replace Kimi. I think Ham will stay and so will Bottas so chances are remote for him in Merc (unless suddenly Ham decides to quit!). As for Ferrari, maybe now still 50/50, depending on how Leclerc performs in the next few races. If Leclerc finally screws up a few times then Ferrari will think twice and may let him continue build experience with Sauber and decides to get Ric instead. But then again not sure if Seb would agree or not (probably he would if he wants to settle the score from his defeat to Ric back in RB days).

Ferrari are enjoying stability period and i doubt they would take a risk hiring Ric. I think they will be focusing in WDC if they unable to get the WCC, and might swap kimi with leclerc at lhe last few races.

Btw, i just realised boulier didn't have any say un technical part if the race car... So seems he just becomes a scapegoat.

Yup there's rumor that the swap might even happen in the last few races this year. That would be quite humiliating for Kimi it that really happens.

Well he might not be in charge of technical part but ultimately he is responsible to bring the team up, which he had failed so far.

He underestimated how british work (which is similar to Malaysian, blame/protective culture). Haha

Kimi it is. Haha. Ric is too stubborn anyway... Like in the last qualifying.

It is interesting to see all ferrari customer team is performing much better than mercedes customer team.

I guess Ferrari PU has 10hp more than Mercedes this season. See only the king Hamilton able to beat Ferrari pair for pole and where ordinary driver Bottas was.

Botta made a mistake near the end. Otherwise I guess he would be quite close to the front too.

I gotta said Hamilton final lap was breath taking to watch. It was quick, pretty neat. Lets see if he can keep the Ferrari at bay tomorrow.

Vowles better be on his game tomorrow...

I think Ferrari 'shared' all the update and tricks for the PU more than Mercedes with their customer.

Yeah, that lap is perfect. Vettel got neck issue... See if it affects him in the race.

Looks like can be a tight race. Hopefully someone other than Ham & Seb to win but seems unlikely.

Yup, I also would like to see Leclerc keep doing well. We need new young talents to keep coming up to replace the outgoing old (cough, Kimster, cough!).
