Just click the webview implementation, the choice will be made available if you install multiple webview on your box.

Unfortunate you can't do it easily on certain tvbox. You must edit files manual. The details too long, there is no proper documentation in the net. I found that out from 4pda.ru website. It involves editing framework.jar files.

As for faking your box as another box, you can try a few different boxes build.prop.

Eg edit the existing lines in build.prop with the lines below will take your box as another box ( the lines below fake itself as Sony HD TV ).

Root need to be closed or hidden for it to work.

Don't simply change the build.prop properties if you dont know what u are doing.. I have done it before, and the box got bricked.. save all the hassles, ask the seller to do it for u to make sure the box is aotg compatible.. if can't, then find someone else or other seller who can do it for you.. u need to know what you are doing, and dont just follow any instructions here blindly.. do some research.. different boxes, different unbrick methods.. some have to go until open the box and short some nand pins..

Not sure.. just reinstall it after my astro go ask for update.. but before it works i have try many AOTG version.
bought the box at shopee with AOTG in it..

Thanks for the advices. I just want to comment on the latter part... When playing around with getting Netflix FHD+ on the GT-King, I did change to those and some other parameters.. Didn't work for Netflix.. Given Asterruk's stance on Android TVs... Might make it worse..

Preach... But I think some who come here have already made the mistake of purchasing the wrong box and are looking for ways to make it still work. If only they'd applied the same thinking to research a device first or ask owners about it first before purchasing.. Save them the headache. Nevertheless, next month onwards, everything might change.. As Asterruk could very well lock down even harder given the amount of info we've already provided em with.. So all we know as of today might be moot by then..

Any work around on how to hide hdmi detection on new astro go? I'm using my phone s8..

I think best to wait for the final official apps from asteruk.. for now i just watch from my laptop first.. if it happens to be confirmed that mi box is unusable.. then only will decide to buy new box..

I am using minix neou9H. Astro go asked to update app but google play says no longer compatible.

Astro has already stopped using the word beta on the official app in play store, even though they have not closed down the beta app ( different package names ).

for mibox and some other ATV devices, u can use old v8.2.6 modified apk, still working now.
in a week's time, we'll know if it will be dead for good.

We have no solid answer to this issue. Now it's everyone's guess.

Seems it's more common to low end widevine L1 devices. Maybe it is because the player in AstroGo is only capable of software decoding in widevine L1 devices ( for Astro videos specifically), and so it becomes too difficult for a low end box to handle it ?

More tests/info/data needed to find out the root cause.

GT King fits an L1 device, and also using normal Android. The S922x is quite powerful both CPU and GPU.

So now recipe for disaster for new AOTG:

Android TV OS OR Google Widevine L1 devices

How to check ur widevine level? Install DRM info from playstore. Go to widevince CDM section and look at security level. It should be either 1 or 3. Most devices should be 3. Mibox, Nvidia shield, gt mini-a, mecool m8s pro w, l should be 1.

Meaning.... to avoid problems, stay away from ATV os and/or L1!

L3 regular android cheap cheap box also can do, as long as unrooted and android 5 and above, i think.

Old 8.x.x will inevitably die, better we focus on new version.
